Haha. Well I'm glad I figured out that little bit of research though because now I have ammo for my OB appointment tomorrow.

OK I just reread it and it made more sense. They do tell you the number from conception, they just don't give you a formula for it like they do for the LMP.
So based on that I counted the days and my EDD according to Mittendorf (first time Caucasian mom) would be... Sept. 19. So according to that I'm still "overdue" but not by as much. |
With my first, I had her at exactly 41weeks. And with your long cycles...you wouldn't even be at 41 weeks yet.
This sounds like it is something for you though.... I always went into active labor within hours of losing my mucous plug. I would think the same for you at this point. With all this happening I definitely wouldn't want to induce.

Yeah, it was just a little bit of it and still just feeling crampy at this point, but my body is definitely just getting ready and doing what it is supposed to do. There is no reason to pump me full of chemicals just because I don't fit some timeline.
Got some good news from a friend today. Her mom is an L&D nurse and told her all the L&D wards at the hospitals are really, really crowded right now so my OB won't even be able to book an induction for at least a couple days.

Yesterday I had an OB appointment. Definitely some negatives and positives from the whole experience. Overall I pretty much got my way.
If I haven't gone into "real" labor by Friday morning I'm scheduled for an induction starting with Cervadil.
I had an NST and and ultrasound and both came out fine which is why I was able to push him until Friday. When I first went in he was wanting to start the induction right away or at least today.
He also stripped my membranes without asking or telling me.
You can read all the details in my preggo blog if you want.
Anyway, speaking of real labor... I'm starting to wonder if I'm just one of those people that has a basically painless birth. I've definitely been having contractions since yesterdays appointment. I feel a bit of cramping low and can actually watch as my belly tightens and lifts up, but it really doesn't hurt. It's hard to really tell when the contractions begin and end unless I'm really watching closely and/or have my hands on my belly.
So now I'm worried I'll progress really far and not even know it... like that thread that was on here about people not knowing when they were in labor.
And what is going on now is completely different from all the false labor I was experiencing before. Now I think that wasn't even really contractions. I don't know. I'm so confused!

Way to go, pushing 'em off til Friday! Glad to hear all is well with baby.
And wow, sweeping membranes without telling you?! Sheesh.
I'm starting to wonder the same thing about myself, since I don't feel like anything is happening (but it probably is) - will baby just fall out of me, without any warning, while I'm walking the dogs? <laugh> That would be pretty cool, actually.
Here's hoping that membrane-sweep-without-consent (MSWC
) will put you into active labor by Friday!

I hope the doc's stealthy (AKA totally inappropriate!) membrane sweeping works like magic!

I guess the membrane sweep could be a blessing in disguise though, huh? Although that was totally a violation...I'm sorry.
I was having some contractions with my second early one evening and ended up not really getting much sleep and calling the MW around 3am. My labor stopped. I had her sweep my membranes and a few hours later I got some really good contractions, labor progressed and I had baby 9 hours later.
It's funny that even the second time around what I thought was contractions wasn't really labor per se and they actually didn't even hurt that bad compared to what came later. It's all relative.
