How do you get rid of cigarette smell

I'm a non smoker. My neighbor moved in a scuzzy boyfriend who was a chainsmoker. The landlord finally threw his butt out, but the smoke he generated while he was here mostly drifted in my window and stunk up my whole place. It seriously smells like a bar in here. How do I get rid of this smell. It's giving me headaches and sneeze attacks. TIA

That sucks! At least he is gone though. I would try to keep windows open and get fresh air circulating before it gets cold out. Wash everything, including the walls. I would wash the carpets if you could, if not, I would sprinkle baking soda on it (and the couch!) and let it sit overnight. Vacuum in the morning. Set bowls of vinegar out to absorb odors. Take down your curtains and wash them. Use lots of b.s and vinegar!
