Cycle Beads?

has anyone used these? i am allergic to condoms, haven't figured out why because i do not have a latex allergy.
i refuse to go on the pill because to me having a fertilized egg refused by my body due to a medication i am taking is like an abortion which i am not the slightest bit ok with.
i know my body pretty well, i have painful ovulation. i was just trying to see if anyone had used the cycle beads, i think it's neat that they can both help prevent pregnancy and help you become pregnant depending on what you want. i think a visual aid may help DH know when we should avoid the deed lol.

they would not prevent a pregnancy just tell you when you might be fertile, right? You should not rely on o pains only, but also observe other fertility signs such as cervical fluid and cervix position, possibly also temp. If you ovulate late because of stress or whatever the beads will NOT be correct and you might get pregnant. but with a regular cycle you could use the beads in ADDITION to another method.

yes i plan to use them alongside another method. probly not feeling my cervical position, i'm just not down with that lol. i think ithey would be more helpful than my calander.

Cycle beads only work if you have a textbook 28 day cycle and 14 day LP; in other words, it doesn't work for a lot of women. I'd recommend Taking Control of Your Fertility... taking your temp is just about as easy as counting beads but a lot more helpful! Along with cervical fluid (external checks, even!) you're all set!

I use the cycle beads with the other signs from Taking Charge of Your Fertillity. According to TCYF, the beads work as long as your cycle is between 26-32 days, which mine is. I like them, but their abstainence period is longer than I usually feel I need to go. So far so good!

I used the basic method that cycle beads uses but without the actual beads. Thankfully (or not) I can feel ovulation occur so it was fairly easy to avoid pregnancy for the year I wasn't taking BC but wanted to avoid a pregnancy. Here's what I did:

--Days 1 - 9 of my cycle were okay for no condoms
--Day ten through 24-hours after ovulation occurs we'd use condoms
--The rest of my cycle we were okay for no condoms
