I am asking this question for a friend of mine. Her 6-year-old daughter has horrible body odor. My friend first started noticing it when her DD was 5. It seems to be confined to her armpits and smells like onions. Bathing does not seem to make a difference. She has had bloodwork done, and nothing was abnormal. She does not have any signs indicating precocious puberty, either.
My friend has been doing research but asked me if I would post on the message boards I frequent to see if anyone has any experience with this. She is not against having her daughter start to use deodorant if that is the only solution, but she also does not want to simply mask the problem if there might be something else going on, or if there are better, natural alternatives that would be reasonable for a child that age.
