URGENT! Need a new DALLAS midwife ASAP!

I posted this in the Texas Tribal Area as well but I know some of you in this DDC are from Dallas.

I have a midwife who is more of a medwife and I am in desperate need of a real midwife who isn't going to push me into chemical inductions and a c-section for a big baby. PLEASE!! I need recommendations for a midwife - I'm 39 weeks and due on the 19th. My current midwife freaked me out today and said my baby is too big to deliver. If anyone can recommend a midwife who is willing to start this late in the game, I'd really appreciate it! Thank you!

OH, I forgot to mention that she said if there was no time to prep me for a c-section, the doctor would cut my abdomen without anesthesia. I've NEVER heard about this barbaric practice - ever!

I have used them twice now. I have a narrow pelvis and delivered a 9 lb baby last Monday. My first I was transferred to the hospital, but the back-up OB is wonderful and tried everything to deliver my baby vaginally even though the was posterior and facially presented. I know the practice is very busy but if nothing else maybe she can refer you to her OB, who avoids c-sections at all costs.

I believe my midwife's website is www.gentlebeginningsbc.com I'm not sure how it would work with you being 39w, but you could always call and ask.

crashing from October

I don't know how late in the game they accept transfers in, but I've been very happy with my birthcenter and midwives thus far: http://familybirthservices.com/

No advice, but that is the biggest crock of BS I've ever heard! She was simply trying to scare you into scheduling a c/s.

no adivce on dallas midwives, but good luck.

My midwife accepted a new client on 9/5, who was due on 9/4. She told her that she had another Mama who was already due a that point and that she took presidence, but accepted her.

as far as that no anesthesia thing goes, yea shes trying to scare you. pretty dirty tactics if you ask me! no surgeon in his right mind would intentionally do such a thing, the lawsuits alone would be tremendous and he would probably lose his liscense. what a stupid and mean thing for her to say...

Your midwife is a nut. Cut you without knocking you out? Yeah, right. Talk about asking for a lawsuit. They won't be able to give you a spinal if it's too late, but they can knock you out (put you completely under) if there wasn't time.
