No kidding! I noticed that, too. Come on, Peter, you know you can't trust him anymore.

It seems that Peter now has to touch whomever in order to absorb their power. And he can only have one power at a time.

Good for Ando, he got to have some cool guy action for five minutes.

Oh, oh, what about Claire at the beginning when she was sitting with Angela and talking. What was with the Barbie make up?? For pity's sake, she was lacquered with make up.

I have no idea who it was in the orange suit that got sucked out of the plane. It might not have been anyone we know, just someone to demonstrate how dire the situation was.

I don't get why Peter doesn't strengthen his powers like he did before. When he first started he only had a power when he was near someone else. But, when he started working with that invisible guy, the invisible guy showed him that he could assume multiple powers and use them even when he's not in proximity to them. So I don't get it.

The ability Peter had with Claude prior to Arthur's ability suck was natural, he only had to be near someone. Post Arthur, taking the formula he has a new ability. Yes, I know it is like his old ability but things have definitely changed.

I too was rooting Sylar on. He is the only reason I still watch the show as of yet.

While its true that he now has to touch people for some reason, I don't know where everybody is saying he loses powers after he absorbs another. I re-watched the new episode and he still has super-strength after absorbing Tracey's Ice power. He was beating up on the agents after he got the ice-touch. Then, he touched the side of the plane and shattered it. Oops.

Ah. Good point. I lost track there and it seemed like he was doing one thing at a time.

OK, I am going to stick with my thought that he can only do one power at a time. I re-watched the end last night. Peter touched Mohinder, and gets the strength, so he breaks out of the chair and then kicks butt with the guards. He gets knocked into Tracey and then gets back up to fight with a guard. At that time, the guard seems to get the upper hand and starts beating Peter, who falls into the wall and ices it up, causing the huge hole in the plane. Peter has to hold onto the net thing, which breaks and Mohinder grabs him and the scene ends.

Some have found similarities between Peter's first ability of empathic mimicry and his current ability. Indeed, both abilities allow Peter to absorb powers from those around him. Neither ability has ever shown a negative effect on the person from whom the ability is absorbed. Two big differences, however, include the fact that the ability transfer used to be passive—Peter would simply have to be in another evolved human's presence in order to gain their ability. Now he seems to have to make physical contact with the other person. As well, Peter used to be able to hold on to multiple abilities (at one point, he had access to at least fifteen abilities). Now he seems to only be able to hold on to one ability at a time.
Curious to see how it's all going to play out.

Supposedly a friend of mine saw an interview with Milo, and he did confirm that somehow Peter's power would be different now. I guess we'll just have to see if the 'having to touch someone' is the only limitation or not.

It just makes no sense to me that his powers are different. Then again none of the "oh no my powers are gone!" seemed productive to the storyline overall.

I'm annoyed and frustrated. It's confusing.

Heroes always seems to have one really good episode followed by a few bad ones. This was one of the bad ones in my opinion.

I'm not sure if it was everywhere, but our local station kept cutting into the show "in progress". It was like they were running the commercials too long and when it would come back to the show, they were in the middle of a scene. Strange.

In all, I didn't think there was too much of interest last night. I did enjoy the scenes with Sylar. I love that he picked up a kid with daddy issues. I am thinking Sylar's probably not the best father figure.

Mind if I join the discussion?

I was a little disappointed that Peter's abilityt o acquired new powers is limited now (only able to keep one at a time & he has to touch the host) but I think that this may be one of those plotlines by the writers to get Peter to develop his leadership quality and to relearn his power. Remember taht Peter orginally was like this until he met Claude (invisible man)who taught him how to hold onto multiple powers.

It's good to see Parkman took control of the gunman on that hillside. I wanted him to accept his powers and not shy away from it. I don't think Daphne is dead but her "death" was needed to push Parkman.

And Nathan...I don't know what he is up to but I don't believe that he is the bad guy. He is up to something along with Bennet. That last scene between Bennet and him, where he thanks Bennet after Peter flew away. I think that was left as a clue for us to not totally hate Nathan.

Was anyone else annoyed with that whole Claire thing? "I'm free! Oh wait now I'm captured. Yay, free again! Ok now I'm captured" It felt like this episode was all about running in place.

I really can't stand Claire these days. She's so angry and paranoid and just annoying. I told dh she reminds me of Patrick McGoohan in The Prisoner. And WTF with her bad wig? I don't know why, but her hair always looks like a really bad wig.
Yeah her hair and whiny attitude is bugging me too.

The only character I can stand these days is Sylar. I guess Parkman seems to have a head on his shoulders.

Why hasn't Ando tried to shock Hiro's powers back into him I wonder...
I think the reason they changed Peter's power was because he was TOO powerful. I they decided they had to reign back on giving him everything, to make him more evenly matched with some of the other characters.

I really think that they spent the first few seasons developing the characters and their powers and they are really not sure what to do with them now?

Ever watch Prison Break? It's similar in that it was like, "OK so they've broken out...not what???"

I really dislike what they have done with Hiro. At least he's not acting like a 10 year old anymore. I found that to be really annoying.

Ooooh, good point!

Oh, my word, that whole scene with the guy and his hands nailed to the chair was just ick. And they kept coming back to it. And then he unsticks the tools from the chair with his pierced hands!! Gah! : My toes were curling, and I had to look away.

Agreed, Claire's plot was awkward and choppy this time.

I don't think Nathan and Noah had a alternative plan from the start, but the Hunter is out of Nathan's control now, and Nathan is trying to get back into control. That episode showed Claire's two dads coming together to protect her. Zeljko Ivanek plays a good bad guy, very tough and menacing. Even if I'm taller than him.

I'm glad Nathan still isn't willing to kill Peter.

I fault the writers that Nathan's motivation doesn't seem clear to me. I still don't get why he's rounding up heroes. They're still copying X Men. In the first movie a senator pushes to have mutants rounded up, but then is turned into a mutant himself. And Tim Kring swears he hadn't even heard of X Men when he developed Heroes.

One more thing, Dante Basco (Prince Zuko from Avatar) is the nerdy shop owner in an ad during Heroes. I think the ad is for Verizon, but now I can't remember. The ad was on last night and last week's episode.

I'm left slightly annoyed by last night's episode.

What I enjoyed:
Sylar has a new sidekick. Somehow I think there will be some comic one liners coming our way.
The alienation of Nathan- you can't be an asswipe and get away with it.

What I did not like:
Claire- Is it something in the Petrelli DNA to be so gullible? Somone is texting you and you just poor your heart out? If a random person is texting you and you don't know, do not reply. Nothing good can come from it.
Daphne- Is she dead? People are like roaches on this show (points to those who get the reference) and don't stay dead.
Mohinder- what happened to my scientist.

Some random thoughts:
Where is Lyle? When Claire tells Sandra she is thinking about staying closer to home for college, she (Sandra) says something like "I'm glad, the house is so empty without you".
Did anyone happen to see the article Angela was holding at the end? She seems to be upset reading his file. Did anyone see what it said?
