Anyone having labor confusion??

Ok so two days ago, I felt and thought I was starting active labor..crampiness all day with BH...then yesterday it tapered off and I only had a couple BH. Now today, I feel calm and rested (never quite pain-free).....I feel like I have been in prodromal labor for 2 weeks now with good days and bad days....this is driving me crazy. On top of everything, all of a sudden my heartburn has gone from bad to intolerable, and I can hardly eat anything nor do I really want to. That can't be healthy right about now....ugghhh!!

I've had prodromal labor since this last saturday. Cept my contractions are 10 minutes long (not 10 mins apart... but actually 10 minutes long). So, I know that this couldn't possibly be real labor. I asked the midwife about it. She says BH Contrax can be long, but not real labor. So, I guess once I start getting shorter contractions i'll know i'm in real labor. lol.

Yeah I am going on almost 3 weeks of prodromal now. This is my 3rd child and I have had at least 4 nights of "this is definitely it" only for it not to be. I also have that horrible heartburn thing. Like seriously last night I had brown rice and tofu and had heartburn. Are you kidding me?

Boy am I glad to see this thread. I was just getting ready to ask this question

I'm having intense pressure and shooting/knife like pains very low. I am wondering if it is a UTI or prodomol labor? Any way to tell? I'm not having back pain or any more frequent urination? I have to go by the midwife's office to pick up daughter - wondering if I should just drop in for a urine culture?

I was having on and off crampiness since last Friday. Then Wednesday night it turned into constant crampiness with BH ctx and lots of low back pain. I thought for sure it was going to turn into the real thing about 2am on Thursday, but it didn't. Last night and yesterday I was mostly just really sore and crampy, sometimes it was more intense than others, but I did sleep through the night last night. Today I have some light crampiness and my lower back isn't bothering me as much. I also have those shooting vaginal pains from time to time. Taking a bath has been a great relief. Just hope this turns into the real thing pretty soon here and I can actually get breaks in between the cramps!

Yea whats up with the shooting pains in the vajayjay!! I went to the bathroom the other night and one sent me flying up from the toilet. This is baby number 4, and I have never experienced such a rough go of it....its hard to imagine how labor is going to relieve all this....lol

Oh yes... the shooting pains. I just figured that was baby being rough with me. lol. She moves a lot... so i figured she must be getting rough with my cervix... maybe she's trying to get it open? lol.

I hate this whole "Is this it, probably not, but maybe....Yes I think it is....No definately not...." game that is going on around here. I have been very patient thus far and have been trying to enjoy the last couple of wks being pg. but today I just woke up w/ the "I've had it" feeling.

I am more than likely wrong but for some reason I have been feeling all day that something is going to happen tonight.

My cx have been REALLY crampy and I feel a lot of pressure w/them. They extend to around my back but I just wish things would get going!

My hormones are crazy and I feel like I can't get through another day sometimes. But I will, and I probably will be pg forever.

I called the midwife to see if I could just run in for a urine test. I get bad UTIs and was sure if I waited that I'd be miserable over the weekend. The midwife was there and wanted to check me.

I did have some blood in my urine (probably mucous plug or just from cervix dilating). No sign of UTI.

She said the pressure and shooting pains in the vaginal area is just the baby pushing on the cervix and the cervix dilating. Could mean labor is coming in hours, days, weeeks..............

Isn't that the most frustrating answer? :
