Can contractions feel like

Someone is pinching on your cervix?
Not in your DDC, but that pinching feeling is probably dilating. Normally contractions are felt in your abdomen or back. When they get intense, it might feel like they are in your whole body. Sounds like you are doing some work to get ready, though!!!!

That's what I was just about to say!

Also not in your DDC but I have been having that same feeling for about a week now. I have also been having a ton of pressure in my pubic area along with a burning sensation...like when you gotta pee REALLY bad and cramps.

That's your cervix ripening/dilating.

YES - exactly. I went in to the midwife today thinking it was a UTI. She said I had dilated more. No UTI - just progression. Boy it hurts though.

If you have them - do they feel like a quick pinch or a longer feeling?

Mine usually feel like a quick pinch that come and go for a period of time. Sometimes it is only one pinch and other times it will happen for 10 minutes to an hour. Changing positions or walking doesn't help get rid of them either.

Sometimes mine is a quick pinch and other times it's more like an real intense cramp that lasts longer. Taking a warm bath helped some as did lying on my side.

That's exactly what mine feel like too - walking sometimes just seems to increase them.

I always thought that the pinching feeling on the cervix kind of like an electric shock type feeling, was the baby's head bumping against it. Contractions for me, even BH's have always felt like a menstrual cramp that starts to come on, stay for a bit, and then start to go away. At first like a dull ache, gets to a peak ache wise, then starts to subside.

I've been having this too for the past few days and wondered what it was. I thought maybe I was just sore from the MW doing palpation to try to locate baby's head at my last appointment. Good to know it's my body getting ready for labor!

I'm starting to get this feeling every time I get up and walk around this morning. Almost feels like she could just fall right out of me!

It's that feeling when you think, "I think this baby is trying to claw it's way out!" I've been getting it a lot lately, too.

The pinching sensation happened to me last night and lasted for about 15 minutes. Cool!
