reusable mop pad questions

So I'm wanting to make reusable mop pads for my clorox wet jet mop thing. What material would be best?

I've seen tuts and such using terry cloth, quilters cotton (though the person who did that I believe also using padding and quilted it, and I think that is a bit much for a map pad) and a couple other types of material. I've heard of people using those Gerber cloth diapers as material as well.

Anyone made one before? What material(s) did you use?

I'm almost out of my disposable pads for it and I refuse to buy more!

I was just thinking about that today while I was mopping (and using my last pad)

I'm thinking of using microfiber - that should stick directly to the velcro, without needing to add any "loop" tape.

A microfibre cloth is the answer! Easy to dust with and also easy to mop with.

Darn! I was hoping someone would suggest something I already have in my fabric stash.

I'd use something with a bit of "tooth", iykwim. Terry or a micro terry would help with scrubbing =)

Does yours have little holes with teeth that grab the pads? That's what I have, and I use microfiber towels that I bought for pocket dipe inserts. They work great! No sewing needed, and I have a huge supply. Plus, they're really scrubby, and will even work well for grabbing dog hair and dust when they're dry.

I don't buy the cleanser refills, either. I just fill it up with water, soap, and a little vinegar.

Yes, mine have the little holes.

I think I'll probably make some out of terry for now, and then when I buy supplies to make my new baby's dipes I'll do the microfiber thing.

I buy microfibre cloths at3 for a pound from my local pound shop (dollar store to you!) I use them for everything wet and dry.

Have look and see if anywhere close to you sells them cheaply.
