Planning on doing this soon and curious if anyone else has. Also, anyone plan on a UC next time, or have had one after traumatic experience in a hospital or with MWs?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I'm planning an unassisted after my first traumatic birth with hospital midwives. I've read her book, Lynn Greisemer's and another written for an LDS audience. To me, it seemed a natural progression in trying to prevent another trauma from occuring.
Navelgazing Midwife says that many unassisted births are born out of anger for previous birth experiences (http://observantmidwife.blogspot.com...-recovery.html) I disagree. My choice for unassisted birth is born out of fear.

Laura posts here, and on her own board forums, as well as some other birth groups. I've always found her to be very accessible and friendly.

I'm planning a UC following a traumatic hospital birth. Not necessarily because of it, I wanted to UC my first, but both Dh and I were naive and he wanted to go to the hospital "just in case." Should have stayed home ...
I am getting shadow care from an OB, who I actually like and trust, and he'll be an immense help IF I need to transfer for a problem... he is simply my back-up, even though he doesn't know it. Definately more educated this time around.
eta-- Laura's great. Love her writings!
