Has anyone been to the exhibit?

I've got some stuff coming up, but I am going to try to make it there before it's over on Oct. 5th.

I am a muppet fan, big time, so I thought this would be a really neat thing to share with the kids.

Thank you for the heads up! Getting to DC is always a big trip, but that looks like it would be worth the effort.

I went and was disappointed. (Also a muppet fan.) There was a history of his work, which was mostly in the forms of framed sketches. And there were a few Muppets there under glass (Bert/Ernie, Rolf the Dog), but that was the bulk of the exhibit. There was also the airing of a TV special in a small movie theater. (Nothing new, something made 15-20 years ago.) My kids were not that into it, and the theater was sitting on hard bleachers.

If you live close by, it might be worth an hour, but for me in the MD suburbs, it took longer to get there and back than it was worth.

It has gotten rave reviews from a few of the mothers on another listserv I belong to. Of course it sounds like the moms liked it better, but hey, we are the ones who grew up with the Muppets, right?

thanks for the input. i was kind of thinking it would be more for me than the kids, but i was hoping it would be interesting enough that they wouldn't be totally bored.

Ms.Elle07, are there any other interesting exhibits in the building that are kid friendly? or any other sites within walking distance? i havn't been to D.C. in a long while.

the kids have never been on metro, it would be a true adventure for us! erika
