help me make some mama cloth

I figured you ladies would be knowledgeable in this area.

I like the idea of this pattern- http://www.tinybirdsorganics.com/org...clothpads.html

but i want a PUL layer in my pads because i hate any leaking. (and i have tons of scraps from diaper making)

where would i add it? I want to be able to add more absorbency if needed.

From what I recall reading, you add it on top of the bottom layer (the layer of fashion fabric that will touch the panties). So it would be fashion fabric on the bottom, PUL layer, then the rest of the envelope mama pad layers over that. You could also use fleece for the bottom and nix the PUL. I haven't tried this personally, but I've read good reviews on it. Hope this helps!

OK, there is the top layer (against your skin) and then the bottom layer (that's in two pieces which overlap). Just make the bottom out of PUL--no need to have the PUL as an extra layer or anythiI have some pads made this way and they work just fine for me.
If your flow isn't too heavy, you might also consider using fleece (heavy fleece, not microfleece) as the bottom layer--it's a pretty good barrier. Of course, those diaper scraps make awesome pads. I do it all the time (I'm a WAHM and sell both diapers and pads).

I'm just making my first round of momma pads myself and i'm using bamboo scraps for on top and windpro fleece for my bottom layer. I'm also making them a snap together system, with a pad that snaps to a "shell" , so I can just change out the pad and leave the shell in place (snapped to my undies) until it gets funky, of course. Got the idea from Fresh Moon.
We'll see how it goes!
