New to Oklahoma - Page 2

I am an OK mom too. I found this thread because I was searching for a Dr in OK. I live in Shawnee. We homeschool, homebirth, no vax, bf and cd too.

Typically we do not need a doctor but one of my dd's is having teeth problems and has to have emergency dental surgery so we need a Dr. to certify her healthy enough to undergo surgery for the dental issues.

Thanks for all who contributed.

Hey! Welcome to OK, almost. We're new here as well and are in Norman. I would second Dr. Wilson, although he is a drive from Edmond and if you have a sick child you really don't want to have to go so far. I have heard of a doc in Edmond (I think) named Mary Shreick, ND. The practice is called Full Circle Health Clinic. She's a naturopath that was mentioned favorably on a yahoo list called OklahomaRadicalMothers, a group that is fairly pro natural parenting. You'll find support for your parenting choices in Edmond, I'm sure! There is a wonderful BF toddler support group there with a super leader. There is another yahoo group for homeschooling called homeschoolinginokcmetro that has members in Edmond. Best of luck with your move!!!

Oklahoma is a great state to homeschool, no hassles from local school districts, etc. There is an organization called OCHEC that has a website that might be helpful for you... www.ochec.com. I have never been a member but that have a great convention every May and I used to love shopping for curriculum there (my daughter completed homeschooling and college a few years ago, i miss those days.)
