mothers in nutley?

my family is moving to nutley in mid-October. (fingers are crossed as we move towards our house closing) we've been living overseas (paris) for the last 4 1/2 years... but spent 10 years before that living and working in Brooklyn, Manhattan.

DD is 13 months, DS is due to join us Dec 25, DH will be commuting to NYC for work. i will be setting up the house, getting ready for our birth, looking for childcare, etc. any other mom's in/ around nutley?!?! would love to hook up for walks, playgroups, tea, etc etc.

also, looking for pediatrician recommendations.

definitely nervous about this shift from city to suburban living...
anyone around? suggestions for meeting other families?

Hi there!

We live in Nutley near Route 3/Clifton Commons. We've lived here about five years now and love it. There are lots of things to do in the area, and our neighbors are wonderful.

I haven't been to LLL in a while, but there's a group in Montclair (next town over). You can also check out our library, there are storytimes for the wee ones every week to meet other families with kids the same age.

Our ped is awesome - she's actually a DO in family practice, so she's the primary dr. for our whole family. Her name is Maryann Alessio and she's on Kingsland Rd. Very supportive of our delayed vax schedule, her office staff is friendly, etc.

i was wondering on such a huge forum if anyone would find my one little post. glad you did. thanks for the suggestions.

i'll definitely be in touch with the ped you suggested this week. DD is a month overdue for her 1 year check up.

we'll be (hopefully) near Memorial park, so we can visit the ducks...

Aw, that's too bad!

I don't have personal experience with this dr, but I know that a lot of mamas on here like Maria Yerovi in Bloomfield, right on the south side of Nutley.

We're not far from that neighborhood too -- very nice. Actually, all the neighborhoods in Nutley are pretty nice.

this is great. thank you so much. i got Dr. Bacha's name yesterday through a midwife also.
