I'm looking for a good pediatrician in San Diego that is familiar with and will follow Dr. Sears alternative vaccination schedule. Can anyone reccommend someone? Thanks!

Dr. Stuart Graham is my kid's non-vax-friendly ped. He's at Center for Healthcare (Pomerado Hospital) in Poway.

Michael Berent with Sharp Rees Stealy allows Dr. Sears' alternative schedule. We bring in the book and he follows the monthly schedule. He asked to add in polio early on because he said that it hardly ever had side effects. I said ok, but I'm sure he would have been fine without adding it in early. He's located near Mary Birch hospital. He's very gentle and always makes a point of talking to my 5 year old while my babies are having their check-up so that she doesn't feel left out. He also has no problem with them being vegan (especially since he sees how tall and healthy they are).

You can also go to Dr. Sears if that's an option.

I already called and Dr. Sears office is no longer accepting any new patients

I have a list of doctors that are supposedly on-board with AP ideas. It is compiled by the HB MWs in the area.

I have only tried one on the list. We don't vax and in the two visits I made he never brought it up but I don't do the WBVs and have never brought up delayed. PM me if your interested in either the doctor or the list.

We use Dr. Allen Schwartz and Dr. Tami Nakahara, Childrens Healthcare Medical Associates, located in Hillcrest. They have given us no problem in following Dr. Sears alternative schedule.

AoifesMom, do you think that either of your peds would be ok with no vax or extremely delayed vax? i'm not familiar with dr. sears schedule, but we are not planning on doing any vax for a few years and even then we may not do any at all.
i am close to hillcrest and would love a pediatrician who is comfortable with that choice.
thanks!

Jackies Ladybug, They may give you a hard time about it, but it may not be a deal breaker for them. No way to know without trying. I will tell you the front office staff is not receptive to delaying vax so I expect calling to ask would be utterly useless. Sorry I can't be more help. Good luck.

I also take my four children to Dr. Nakahara. She in particular will not give you any grief. Dr. Schwartz may a little, but they will do it. Make an appointment to Dr. Nakahara. She will give you straight talk, not a bunch of fearmongering! I just saw her last month with my youngest (16 months). My last two children aren't vaccinated at all and it hasn't been a problem in that office. Good luck. Their number is 619-297-5437 (KIDS). They are in Hillcrest.
