The official May babies in Cloth thread! - Page 10

Can I be a weirdo and say I just buried my nose all in my cloth diapers to sniff them? I'm still in the process of prepping them and they smell so fresh and clean!! : I still have to wash them two more times. I feel like I've got the gist of folding down I just wish I had a real baby to practice on lol. DH wants to sit down one night and practice together so he can learn how to fold them too. Judging from all my real life friends & family's 'eww gross!' reactions I'm so glad that he's on board with it.

wow, looks like i've been missing this thread for a long time.. thought saw it once then lost it...anyway..
We'll be CDing again. first one from birth though. I might possibly use the disposables from the hospital until the miconium has passed.. havent decide on THAT just yet likely wil depend how i'm feeling after delivery.

we semi CD with our 3yr old starting around 1, we found out she was allergic to latex and had been getting horrible diaper rashes. we coudlnt afford to take the plunge to gt enough fro full time and i was making diapers here adn there working out the bugs we got to cloth during the day and sposies for going out/traveling. with 20mo dd i used cloth and sposies mostly sposies because we were doing laundry at my parents house and 8 peoples laundry PLUS 2 kiddos diapers was an awful lot. finally we moved and have been totally CDing the 20mo since her first b-day with a rare excetion of running out at grandparents or my brothers a couple times and haveing to use one of the sposies they ahd on hand.

I"m working on making diapers for this time around since DD wont be out of them yet, not fully anyway(she IS using the potty a couple times a week on her own though!!!!) I ahve a bunch of stained cloths and other "recycled" fabrics i'm using I"ve knitted a couple wool covers. cant read a pattern so i'm hoping the size will be good :P

for those who haven't CDed before DEFINETELY you NEED wool cover/soaker.. they ae absolutely amazing! I wasn't sold until i finished my first and put it on dd for the night and she was dry in the morning(we're talking close to 12 hrs later)

does anyone know specific diaper patterns that are good for skinny babies? my kids have never gone past size 3 in sposies because they are tiny until potty training. none hit 20 pounds before 1 1/2yrs

I love wool! I just learned how to knit and made the baby a newborn soaker and a wool sleep slack for night time. I have bought 3 interlock covers. But I plan on making a size small soaker also before babe gets here and I might make shorties or a skirty after birth depending upon gender.
