Tacky to take store bought baked goods to L&D nurses?

I've been reading about people baking things during early labor to take to L&D nurses but I am thinking about just picking something up on the way there instead. I know I'm a little weird about eating food from stranger's homes so I'm taking that into consideration!

Would that be tacky?? Is anyone else taking the nurses goodies and if so what are you doing?

No, I don't think it's tacky to bring something store bought. I hadn't even thought about bringing anything, honestly. It does sound like a nice gesture....

Not at all...I am taking some unopened packages of Gevalia cinnamon coffee and ginseng mint tea to the L & D for the nurses

Ok, great! I'll pick up some cookies and brownies or something on the way there! I love the coffee and tea idea too!

I thought about taking muffins or cookies too. I'm thinking it might be a good idea to bring goodies - I want really good customer service! hehe!

Yes, they'll be putty in our hands once we take them sweets! Ha! I was also thinking about just stopping my Dunkin Donuts and getting a few of their mixed boxes for them. I could pass them out in triage too. I hate to carry stuff in and leave them out! :-)

Dont forget the newborn nursery...they are the ones who bring your crying baby out to you...take extra care of them too....i used to work in NBN and we would love when mama's/parents brought food in. It helps the long shifts go by and closes the gap between nurses and parents. Great idea to take goodies in.

I'm picking up 4 dozen assorted flavors of cookies from a local bakery in a few minutes to take to my L&D nurses as a thank you for the great care that we got. I got a basket and some gourmet coffee (pre-ground b/c I'm not sure if they'll have a grinder) to put in the basket with the cookies, along with a thank-you note.

So I don't think store-bought is bad, as long as it's from the bakery section and not, say...a bag of chipsahoy .

Thanks! I was just thinking it might be good to just pull through a drive thru on the way and it would be fresh too. And IF my husband is being a good boy and not freaking out too bad then he can get his favorite,,,,lemon filled donuts. Ha.

Ok, she said it was hard to say but she thought combined they probably have about 30 people,,,depending on how crowded the floor is, etc. I think cookies and brownies would probably be cheaper and I could get more,,,,don't you??

Just in case y'all are wondering,,,,a dozen donuts cost $6.96 here from DD. I'll be going with cookies and stuff instead then!

Not tacky at all. I would prefer it as well if I were the nurse... because I am funny about eating things from strangers homes as well.

I didn't think I was the only one! I never like when customers I don't know bring stuff into our office!
