Anyone go to Helft or Lockhart in Melbourne FL? Opinions please

Hi, I'm looking for a pediatrician for my first baby-I'm going to be breastfeeding, not circumcising, delaying/selective vax, and cosleeping.
If you have experience with either of these doctors-they're the 2 I've narrowed it down to.
Any help is appreciated!

I have not heard of them before. I am only in the area about a year, so that doesn't mean that they aren't good.

Docs I HAVE heard good things about.
Leddy or Leedy (not positive) in Malabar
Dillion off of Wickham
Hammond in Palm Bay - heard great things about him, but he doesn't take kids under 3.
Rastofer gets mixed reviews.

I have also heard fabulous things about Dr Franz up in Orlando - basically all that I dream about in a doc. Or so it seems. I have been debating trying them out - gotta see if they take DS's insurance.

WHile our insurance covered it, we drove down to Ft Pierce to see Dr Punger - very very very AP, both as a doc and as a mom herself. Now we are seeing a Ped in Sebastian (Penny Peds)- actually we see the NP there, who is very nice, conservative with treatment, and didn't bat an eyelash when I said DS had a religious exemption from vax. She also picked up an undiagnosed heart murmur within seconds of listening to his heart. I have no idea what her stance is though on supportive BFing, cosleeping, etc

FWIW, most docs don't ask you about BFing, or cosleeping, or anythign like that. If you find a doc that you like and trust, but gives really bad BFing advice or is totally against cosleeping - just ignore that part. Make it a don't-ask-don't-tell issue.

As for the not circ'ing - THIS is a big issue. Talk to them before they touch your child. I had one ped do a surprise forced retraction on DS and I flipped. She had already looked at his dipe area, and was feeling his tummy, then suddenly she was retracting him, he was screaming, I was screaming and went to smack the docs hands away. It happened soooo quickly. Now I talk to them, telling them that if they have concerns regarding his ability to retract, they can simply ask HIM to do so. ANd I put a sticky note saying "DO NOT RETRACT ME!" onto his pullup. They make stickers, but sticky notes and tape work just fine for me.

Yes, I've heard of some of those, but most are too far. i don't have a great car, so no way am I going to Orlando or Sebastian-I need someone that's relatively close.
I'm planning on switching to Hammond once he is 1-I heard that was the cutoff age, not 3?
That's horrible that your dr. did that! Thank you for the warning!

have you tried posting and asking this in the spacecoast AP yahoo group or over at the meetup group?
That has more local members and you may get a better response.

I saw one post about Helft in the yahoo group which is where I got his name, and I got Lockhart's name from the meetup group =)
Just 1 person recommended each though, so I thought I'd see if there was anyone on here. Thanks though!
