I have not heard of them before. I am only in the area about a year, so that doesn't mean that they aren't good.
Docs I HAVE heard good things about.
Leddy or Leedy (not positive) in Malabar
Dillion off of Wickham
Hammond in Palm Bay - heard great things about him, but he doesn't take kids under 3.
Rastofer gets mixed reviews.
I have also heard fabulous things about Dr Franz up in Orlando - basically all that I dream about in a doc. Or so it seems. I have been debating trying them out - gotta see if they take DS's insurance.
WHile our insurance covered it, we drove down to Ft Pierce to see Dr Punger - very very very AP, both as a doc and as a mom herself. Now we are seeing a Ped in Sebastian (Penny Peds)- actually we see the NP there, who is very nice, conservative with treatment, and didn't bat an eyelash when I said DS had a religious exemption from vax. She also picked up an undiagnosed heart murmur within seconds of listening to his heart. I have no idea what her stance is though on supportive BFing, cosleeping, etc
FWIW, most docs don't ask you about BFing, or cosleeping, or anythign like that. If you find a doc that you like and trust, but gives really bad BFing advice or is totally against cosleeping - just ignore that part. Make it a don't-ask-don't-tell issue.
As for the not circ'ing - THIS is a big issue. Talk to them before they touch your child. I had one ped do a surprise forced retraction on DS and I flipped. She had already looked at his dipe area, and was feeling his tummy, then suddenly she was retracting him, he was screaming, I was screaming and went to smack the docs hands away. It happened soooo quickly. Now I talk to them, telling them that if they have concerns regarding his ability to retract, they can simply ask HIM to do so. ANd I put a sticky note saying "DO NOT RETRACT ME!" onto his pullup. They make stickers, but sticky notes and tape work just fine for me.
