Omg! I Peed On My Ob's Floor!!!

So today I went to the back-up OB for an exam.

He did a cervix check and told me I could get dressed and leave as soon as I was ready. He left the room and my hubby was sitting in the chair as I got up to get cleaned and dressed again.

I grabbed a tissue and leaned against my HUGE tummy to wipe all the goop off before putting the panties back on.

As I leaned over, a HUGEEEE gush of fluid comes out.... and keeps coming... and keeps coming... I am screaming "OMG!!!!!!!" I make a little cup with my hand and start trying to catch it!?!!?! DH says "OMG! ARE YOU LABORING!?" (!?!?!??!!!!?!?!) what does that mean? LOLLL!!! So I realize that either my water broke or I am peeing all over the floor. Then DH says "ITS YELLOW! ITS PEE!!" And I am laughing uncontrollably and it just wont stop! His mouth is dropped open and I am still trying to catch it LOL!!! HOW EMBARRASSING!!!!:

He called for the nurse and I tell her i think I just peed on your floor! She looked horrified (but of course tried to be nice and understanding)... I could hear her go out and tell the other nurses who all start laughing.

Eventually she comes back after testing to make sure it was not amniotic fluid and tells me I can go home... SO EMBARRASSING to walk out of that room with all the nurses starring at me and giggling... I am just so embarrassed I am giggling too and just apologizing to everyone LOL!! The poor doc didnt have any clue what to say and I am sure he knew I was embarrassed so he didnt even look at me. LOL!

Good thing that I am almost due... I am hoping this baby will come before I have to go in for another appt!

Ohh no. I am sure they have seen much worse. LOL! Gotta love that inability to control your urine thing while pregnant... NOT!

Not in your DDC, but oh my goodness! Especially at the thought of you big and pregnant trying to make a cup to catch it, ha!

I would have cracked right up and probably cried laughing!

LOL Sorry, seriously funny visual! That CAN'T be the first time that's happened there.

Oh my gosh, how embarassing! I'm so sorry that happened. But look on the bright side... if you were wearing your pants already, then you could have gotten the floor AND had to walk out with wet pants!

Ohhh, I feel for you! I agree - it can't be the first time that's happened. When you're pregnant, you get a free pass for losing control of your bodily functions!

Oh my goodness, that is totally me too!

Don't worry, I'm sure they have seen worse, the idea of trying to cup your hand and catch it was pretty funny. Thanks for the giggle.

Oh Thanks for the giggle.

I was absolutely sure I was going to pee all over my midwife during my exam today. THe pressure was just so intense. I had to get dressed in a hurry and run to the bathroom.

Omg I'm horrified for you in an amused way I totally understand, I've had to wear cloth pads for months because waiting too long to go or sneezing or coughing or laughing - oh boy. And right now I have a cold

Yup, I was an "I cough, therefore I pee" preggie too and I got sick twice which didn't help. By the end it actually wasn't that bad so I was a bit surprised when I had to confess to the midwife, "either my water is leaking or I'm peeing all over your table right now…."

Kati's doula again:

I am totally printing this story and taking it to her in the morning, maybe the laughter will send her into labor.

Not in your ddc - totally lurking because I love to hear about the new little babies. This made me laugh out loud. Bless your heart. Your husband's question was priceless too. Thank goodness you have a sense of humor and as others stated, I'm sure that has happened before. Congratulations on the hopefully soon arrival of your little babe!

I've had uncontrollable pee moments too. Moments? Days? Weeks? The bronchitis was the worst.

Also fun was when I was leaking a few weeks ago... oh hey that feels different *poke, check* wow, fluid coming out of my vagina for a change! (turned out to either re-seal or was just the outer sac, nothing has come out since!)

But really, those nurses should be more professional! Really, you don't go into nursing if you find bodily fluids funny (or at least if you can't control your humor).
