My mom stopped by yesterday to bring me lunch and brought me a brand new Brother sewing machine! I'd been using my MIL's ancient Kenmore and I'm SOOOOO excited to have a new machine, all to myself. I haven't set it up yet (that's my goal today!) but I can't wait to get started. I have all kinds of project ideas running through my head ...

I've never used a Brother before, but this looks like a decent machine. MIL's happy to get her Kenmore back, too! So, Mamas, tell me about your Brother. Love it? Hate it? Indifferent?

congrats on your new machine. I have a brother cs6000i it is fan-freakin-tastic. I traded in my old singer last year and still cannot get over the smooth straight way it sews and all the fun attachments and stuff that come with it. Have fun with yours!!

Yeah!!! I have the base model brother... bought dirt cheap in frustration from some training pants that my singer was just chewing up. It has been a breeze ever since. I love it!

Ooo, I'm excited. The babe is spending the night at the ILs' house tonight (a random, rare request by the ILs) and I'm spending the evening playing with my machine.

I swear, the only reason she bought it was because it's the Project Runway Limited Edition ...

i just bought the bottom of the line brother ($70 something bucks) and i'm really impressed with it for the price. i was about to buy the next step up singer and the lady working there said she had both and preferred the brother.
