Congrats on getting your protocol. Thanks for posting it. I probably will be a candiate for IVF in the next few months. I have been trying to educate myself alot about this.

Can I join in?

We are TTC#3
I have endometriosis.
DS 1 concieved w/ clomid before the endo got to my tubes.
I had a laproscopy in march '05 and found the endo had scarred up my tubes pretty bad, they are blocked, so our only chance for another was IVF.
We did IVF cycle 1 in May '05

We did long lupron protocol with 225iu Gonal F.
I was a low responder.. my cycle was almost cancelled.
I had 4 eggs retrieved, 3 fertilized. I had 2 embryos make it to 3 day transfer. BFP, DS2 born February '06

This time we are doing a more aggressive agonist protocol.
I am currently on BCP's. Already had all my bloodtests, sonohistogram, baseline antral follie count, etc.
Just waiting for insurance approval.

Our RE said we will be starting w/ 300iu Gonal F
then adding Luveris 75iu, and Ganirelix .25.

The insurance approval is due any day now..
The nurse said she would call me and order my meds as soon as they get the approval.

Congrats to Sarah and Lisa. Good luck to everyone else.
Glad to see I am not the only crazy one trying IVF for more children. Most of the infertility boards I have seen are all people TTC DC#1.

KittyKat - WELCOME aboard!!! Good luck to you! You mentioned that you had 2 kids (above) but only went through 1 IVF so far. ???? When will you be doing ER? My protocol will be around Nov. 17 (which is coming up quickly..and I'm a little terrified). I am one of those TTC #1, but we can all use the support of someone that has been through this before.

Liamsmommy - I think our procedures will be pretty close... It's nice to know when your schedule will be though. It's a little relief knowing when to expect what. Everything goes so quickly once you finally get started (or at least it seems that way to me).

Wishing everyone good luck! Baby dust to everyone! BFP wishes!

Well ladies,

I just got home from the injection teaching class and I am set to start Lupron tomorrow. I was surprised at how tiny the needles really are!
Texas: My ER should be on Nov. 17th too!

KittyKorat: Welcome!

Hope everyone else is doing well. Biomama? How are you doing?
How are our two graduates? Doing wonderful I hope!

Texas- Yep, only one cycle of IVF.
My first son was concieved on clomid. I have endometriosis. It is progressive. I have tubal scarring now that I didn't have then.
My second son was concieved via IVF.

Thanks for the Welcome, Ladies.
I will update when I get a call with the go-ahead from the Dr's office.

glad everyone is doing well. i take my last bcp on sat and have my supression check on wednesday. my dd had to come with me for my sonohystogram and decided that they were ''looking for hippos in mommy's belly". so on wednesday i guess we'll have another 'hippo check'!

welcome kittykat!

just had cycle

Can I join?

I just went through my 1st IVF cycle last week. ER last Monday...12 eggs retrieved...11 fertilized through ICSI. ET Thursday. 3 transferred...2 embryos with assisted hatching.

For those of you who are getting ready, beware of the bloating that follows and ovary cramping. Also, progesterone is a mean hormone. It mimics pg sympt. The 2WW is unbearable.

I will find out Tuesday if it will be BFP or BFN. Cross your fingers for me.

Marie - welcome! any news on your insurance approval? when are you anticipating starting the gonal-f?

Pinkfriend - hope your first lupron shot goes well tonight! good luck!

Samanthasmom - good luck with your suppression check, aka hippo check, weds!

Baileysmom - welcome! sending you lots of sticky babydust. cant wait to hear your results on tuesday! i thought the progesterone was awful too. my RE took me off of it after my bfp & my symptoms cleared up right away. now, im just waiting for the real pregnancy symptoms to appear!!

afm - doing well, hanging out until our first u/s on 11/4. trying not to worry/obsess too much. . .

hope everyone has a great weekend!

Thanks for the baby dust... It's frustrating because you think you should have some symptoms, then when you don't right away, you think it will be BFN. But then you know that it's really too early. You really can drive yourself crazy with wondering.
Baileysmom - the wait will definitely drive you crazy!! i tested on a tuesday too and didn't have ANY symptoms that couldn't have been attributable to the progesterone. on sunday night, i woke up with really bad period-like cramps, which continued through the day on monday. i was completely convinced that the cycle was a bust & the only reason my period hadn't started was because of the drugs. i was pretty shocked by the bfp on tuesday morning.

are you going to poas or wait for your beta?

Sarah,
I should have taken stock in HPT's years ago. If I had a dime for everyone that I've peed on, It would have paid for the IVF LOL. ... No, the RE said that I will take a urine and a blood test on Tues. I got like 3 shots of HCG during my ET and after so a HPT might show false positive anyway.

It's nice to have someone to talk to, people who have not been through it, don't understand.

Thanks,
Tara

no kidding!! we have bought *SO* many of them!! i kind of doubted it was even possible to see two lines appear, i was so used to seeing that ugly white space. i held out from poas until the morning of my blood draw, i just didnt want to get the news (good or bad) while alone at work. i have to admit, since the positive beta, ive peed on several more - im just enjoying watching those lines appear!

i agree about finding a supportive online community. dealing with fertility issues & then going through ivf is something you cant ever understand until you are going through it. since we started ttc last year, we've had several friends of ours get pregnant by accident or on the first attempt of trying. it was starting to feel like we had nothing in common, IF becomes so all-consuming.

sending you lots of babydust for tues!!
