Thanks...he's just starting to expand his business and we're hoping it'll bring home the bacon while I take some time off to be with our new little one.

we have simple white gold bands. We bought them new in 1992 and i think they were about $40 each.
If I was doing it today I would look at antique shops or even pawn shops and get something used, so more gold doesn't have to be extracted.

My husband's wedding band is 18k yellow gold and platinum. I do have a diamond solitaire but no other diamonds on my engagement ring or wedding band - it is also platinum w/ a touch of 18k yellow gold. We bought these back in 2000 so definitely way before the price of platinum went up. I think my set (without the diamond) and his band were $2200 total.

we have very expensive rings :

mine are platinum and diamond. my engagement ring is a diamond solitare set on a channel set eternity band of diamonds, and my wedding band is an eternity band of diamonds. around 2 carats total and they were roughly $3000........although this was several years ago. they look VERY similar to this.

my husband has a very thick, but plain platinum band. it cost about $800.

we seriously LOVE : our rings though....and wouldn't have done anything differently.

We both have platinum--DH is allergic to nickel, so we couldn't do white gold. Mine has a tiny tiny diamond in it (I don't have an engagement ring, although I do wear my grandmother's occasionally). DH's is plain and insanely lightweight--he's a bass player and was worried about being able to play while wearing the ring.

We got married 7 years ago. My ring was 1K, DH's was, I think, about 600.
