How accurate is your due date?

Hi all,

Doing a little research on due dates over here since mine, based on my LMP and using the various online calculators, was 9/13...but knowing my cycle, I'm pretty certain it should be more like today (using those same calculators).

Well, I found this link and according to the Mittendorf calculation (much more modern than the one in current use?), I think my due date should be more like 9/23!

http://www.transitiontoparenthood.co...cy/duedate.htm

Give it a try and see what you get! Made me feel a tad better about not feeling a darn thing labor-related in this body of mine.

[Edited to make it easier to read:]

LMP and Nagele: 9/13
Based on O: 9/17
7 and 11 week U/S: 9/17-9/18
Mittendorf: 9/23

No baby yet

If you remember, update your post when you have your baby!

My u/s date is 9/19.
My LMP date is 9/21.
My Mittendorf date is 9/29.

Unfortunately, my doc goes by the first date, and I've heard I'm only "allowed" to go over by 11 days before they induce. Interestingly enough, the first doctor I had (whose practice I've since left) gave me an EDD of 9/28. Maybe she was trying to head off induction since I'm a first-timer.

My midwife uses an "alternative" system as a supplement, called the woods method. It put my due date a week later than typical OB system (it also has seperate formulas for first timers vs. other children born). Very similar. Woods=20th, the M-one (sp?) put me at 18th, Naegel's 13th. I havent had the baby yet, so we will see.

LMP=Sept.22nd
U/S=Sept.20th
midwife's=Sept.19th
mittendorf=Sept.25th
mine based on conception=Sept.27th

With my last baby, I had to go by the date of ovulation because I didn't have a LMP and that was October 1st. Ultrasound said September 30th so I'd say it was pretty close! He was born September 6th though.

LMP-based: 30 Aug
40 weeks from known O: 3 Sep
1st u/s: 3 Sep
Mittendorf: 8 Sep
actual birth: 10 Sep

My LMP is the 23rd
My calculations is the 30th

There wasn't a whole lot of difference in any of the dates for me.

LMP: Sept 3rd
Ovulation: Sept 5th
Mittendorf: Sept 6th
Birth date: Sept 5th

Ultrasound said August 30th
LMP said Sept 5th
Conception date said Sept 10th
Naegele says Sept 8th
Mittendorf says Sept 11th

Since I am past all of these by at least I week I say

Ob DD - 9/19
Naegel - 9/21
Mittendorf - 9/29
20 week US - 9/24
38 week US - 10/1

So when people ask me when i'm due.. I look at them.. and say who knows... sometime soon

I believe my LMP is unreliable because I had only been off the pill for 2-3 months.

Nagele's Rule = Sept 9
Mittendorf's Rule = Sept 14
7wk U/S = Sept 29 - this is the date we are going with
14wk U/S = Sept 18

So far I've not had my baby yet!

LMP--Sept. 22nd
1st ultrasound--Sept. 29th
Nägele’s--Sept. 24th
Mittendorf--Oct. 2nd
LMP-September 30
8 week Ultrasound--October 5
30 week US-September 11
Mittendorf-October 9

Sticking with September 30th--I can't even imagine waiting that long at this point (although I'm sure I will be)

Nägele’s by LMP- Oct 1st (date on my medical records)
Traditional by O day - Sept 27th
Mittendorf - Oct 9th
Mittendorf adjusted for O day - Oct 5th

Hm, that's quite a range. By Oct 7th would be nice since that's when the induction talk will likely start up.

Cool... according to Mittendorf et al., my EDD is actually the date I have been focusing on, Sep 23, as opposed to Sep 20 which is what I got from calculators based on LMP. Woohoo!

Hmm... in that case, it looks like my due date would actually be around the 30th instead of the 21st.

I don't know whether or not to be happy that I have a more concrete date or to cry because it's going to be more than another week.

I think I'm going to cry... I'm so ready to have this baby and have the pregnancy part be over.

I finally just figured it out...

LMP: 8/26
Ultrasound: 9/13
Nägele’s Rule: 9/11
Mittendorf's Rule: 9/19

The last two are calculated based on conception date.

I find it really amazing that doctors often go by LMP to determine someone being "overdue." A lot of us clearly have a difference between our LMP date and early ultrasounds (and even this Mittendorf's Rule).

For me, it is:
LMP 9/15
U/S 9/26 (7 weeks)
Mittendorf: 9/25

My midwife is going by the u/s date (thankfully), but it's really discouraging to me that many moms are induced based on LMP.

well, this time baby came exactly when predicted.

LMP: 9/17
11 wk us: 9/18

he was born 12:34 am 9/18!

i should go back and calculate, i did not use an O date because there were 2 candidate dates that week.
