second second thoughts---help!

Thread Starter
I just gave my second child his first vaccine at 4 months, a Hib shot. fpr my first child I only did DT after he turned 2. But Ds 1 is now in daycare two days a week, and i felt I shoud give ds2 some protection ( i had been planning to do dtap, too). But now I feel very unsure about this idea---ds2 just seems so young and it feels so weird to be injecting him with this stuff at this age....I am having the hardest time with this decision. I would do what I did with ds1, but ifeel ds2 is at more risk for exposure due to his brother being in day care...
my big question is: are there any negative effects of stpopping a hib vaccine after only one dose(and maybe starting again after one year--or never?)
And any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Certainly no negative effects from stopping the series after only one, and you can pick it up whenever you feel comfortable doing it again.

We actually had to pull our oldest out of daycare/preschool when our youngest was born special needs for this very reason...I can't/won't vax the youngest because of his medical issues, but he also can't afford to be exposed. So unfortunately big brother had to stop going to "school". We're thinking maybe in the spring we'll try again and see how everyone does.
