Coming on here to calm down thread

You know those moments when you need to take a deep breath? Or ten? Or the times when you want to yell at your children or are yelling at your children? This can be a place for us parents to come to calm down. So when you feel your blood pressure rising, hop on the computer and vent away. Or ask for help. Whatever you feel will give you that added support that you need in those moments.

It's nice to know everyone has these moments from time to time.

I was just coming to see if there was a thread like this here. Ask and it is given!!! :

We're all only human and we all struggle. I know I get angry and irritated easily. I strive to not scream at the kids (who doesn't). There are slip ups. I think I need to create a certain way of always handling things.... maybe always stop and come to this thread? I have a two year old boy and we have our days.... Gotta love his spirit though!

STOP CHEWING WITH YOUR MOUTH OPEN!!!

STOP ASKING ME FOR A DRINK!!

LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Deep sigh. I feel like I am a maid. Constantly getting things for little people. I love being a mom and would rather nothing else in the world but sometimes...

Ok..going to get them something to drink

Resources for angry mommas x-post

Hi,

I just wanted to mention that there are some fabulous resources for helping gentle-discipline moms to stay calm at www.consciouslyparenting.com

On Monday, September 22, there is a group support call on the topic of anger. I participated in last week's call on school issues and found it really helpful.

I have also taken some of the teleclasses offered and have found extensive help with understanding anger and learning various tools to maintain calm and regulation. There are so many things that we can utilize "in the moment" as well as in between those moments that can help keep us from falling back into the cycle of anger - guilt - resentment.

Calls are 1 hour long and limited to 9 participants. Cost is just $15, with discounts offered if you sign up for multiple topics.

There's numerous free articles and recordings available on the site also. Check it out - it might be just the extra help you need.

Hugs to all,
Theresa
