Had my membranes stripped

I've been ultra miserable this past week, and I have had enough, so I asked my midwife to strip my membranes today. She actually offered last week, which was surprising, but I declined. I regretted it the next day! lol Anyway, she said I am 5-6 cm dilated, which is awesome, so I'm hoping for another quick labor. The stripping hurt like a #$%&@! I actually had a contraction while she was in there, which was unpleasant. The worst part of it is that if I get any bloody mucous, it will probably be from the stripping, so I can't even count on bloody show to tell me I'm in labor! I'll be 40 weeks on Saturday (or Monday, if you ask her), and I really want this kid OUT! Please send me all the labor vibes you can muster (those of you not hoping to go into labor for yourselves; you guys can keep your vibes )!

Hey, with DS 3 days after the stripping he was born! Yes, it does hurt, but if it helps...then well...it helps!

Lots of labor vibes!

Yeah!

I had my membranes stripped Tuesday. Yesterday I definitely lost my mucous plug. I had some spotting and heavier discharge Tueday. But then yesterday it was a hunk - so I know it was my "bloody show" - still no regular contractions but I'm nowhere near as dialated as you.

Sending you lots of luck and vibes (keeping some for me too!) :

: Hope these work for you! (I'm keeping a couple back for me if that's OK.)

The contraction while you were there is a good sign. With dd2 they stripped my membranes and I had a contraction during as well (dear lord the pain). I was 6cm at that point and never made it home. I had dd 5 hours later. Good luck.

Contractions are still coming, very strong, and I just had bloody show (given the strength of the contractions, I'm choosing to believe that it is indicative of true labor). Keep fingers crossed and labor vibes coming!

All day long I had those super strong contractions, and now, pttthhhtt. They are still coming every now and then, but nothing to get excited about. It's not fair!

Grrrr, still pregnant today. The only, and I mean ONLY good thing about that mess yesterday is that it probably helped me dilate some more. I had BETTER have a super short labor like last time (2 hours it was) or someone is going to pay. Don't know who, but someone!

I think you're crazy for having your membranes stripped!

I can't even handle a papsmear without being very uncomfortable for days after.

It's only out of desperationg. It was very uncomfortable, she had to "walk" my cervix forward. Good Lord, that was painful!

Hopefully I'm not jinxing myself here, but I'm having tons of bloody show, and any previous pregnancies when I had my membranes stripped it was not nearly this much.

I had mine stripped Tues with lots of stuff after but now on Friday still pregnant. This isn't fair!
