help me find the story on a buy-nothing year (Update: found it)

Normally I am a google research ninja and can locate information and articles in seconds flat. But I've been looking forever and I can't seem to dig up this New York Times story from, I dunno, maybe four years ago, about a family who did a buy-nothing challenge for a year.
I'm doing a buy nothing challenge for a week. Not quite the same, but I'd still like the inspiration.

This month's Reader's digest has a story about a family that did a buy nothing month. I found it very inspiring.

I immediately thought of "Not Buying It: My Year Without Shopping" by Judith Levine too.

I don't know about the New York Times article, but her book is very inspirational. Your library would probably have it.
