I can hardly believe Levi turned a month old yesterday! We put a "birthday prince" crown on top of his isolette. Hee hee. Yes, we got pictures. No, they haven't made it from the camera to the computer yet, lol. He's nursing 2-3 times a day now and most of the time is nursing well enough they don't need to suppliment him afterward (if he nurses less than 15 minutes, they suppliment with breastmilk through the feeding tube). He's up to 3lb, 8oz. Today, I asked the PA how long they were thinking it would be until he gets to come home, provided he stays on track and doesn't have any major setbacks. She said that they don't let any babies go until they are 34 weeks and he's 33 today, so 1 week is the absolute soonest (which we knew). They have to get him off the caffeine for his heart and watch him for 5-7 days once he's off it to make sure he's handling things ok without it and they're going to start looking at getting him off that soon. He's still a little anemic, but he's been getting better about that with no blood transfusions. He'll also have to gain a little more weight and start keeping his temp regulated on his own. She said that's usually around the 4 lb mark, so probably soon as well. So with no major setbacks, she's figuring that 3 weeks at the latest and most likely around two weeks from now we'll be bringing him home! YEA! We've been there almost 5 weeks now, so we're over halfway there!
