Anyone started their own daycare in CO?

Thread Starter
I would like to start my own in home daycare and went to the Department of Health and Children website (where I get my application packet).

BUT: I found the site not really helpful and their automatic telephone-system....

So, has anyone started their own daycare (in home) here in CO and cares to talk about it (maybe give some pointers?)????

All input welcome.

A friend of mine did it and she's now up and running. I don't really know all the "rules" I'm surprised the web site isnt more helpful.
I know she can take a max of 8 kids, but if she has any under 2, then that number is limited. If she has 2 under 2, she can only take 2 others over 2. She had a conditional permit for a while and was allowed to have fewer kids during that period. She did get inspected quite a bit in the beginning. Backyard has to be fenced, each child has to have his/her own hand washing towel. There has to be a sign in/sign out system. Emergency exits posted, lots of baby proofing. Kids have to provide their vax forms (or something that says they refused vaxes) as well as have a well checkup within a month of starting.
That's all I can remember right now. Good luck!
