Today's my EDD!

So for weeks I've been in this holding pattern...lots of BH, some lig/pelvic pain/discomfort & nothing else. THen, yesterday afternoon, started having cramping low in my belly & across my low back--very much like menstrual cramps. The cramping happens for a few hours, occasionally sharp, & then fades for a while. Also having occasional contractions that I have to actually stop & breath through, nothing regular, but still exciting....My body's getting ready!

Of course I also had some big hormone surge yesterday, while my poor DS had to stay home sick from school w/ an extremely b**chy mama. By 3:00, my DH came home early, to have me yell at him (him: 'I'm allowed to have my reaction', me-yelling: 'no, while I'm getting ready to have this baby you are NOT allowed to have your reaction! Have your reaction somewhere else, not around me!"). I then burst into tears, cried for a while, refused to rest, cooked a vat of split pea soup & 2 quiches & felt much better. Yea pregnancy!

I know it could still be weeks, tho' I hope not., but it's just so exciting to know that 'something' is moving! THanks for letting me share with all you wonderful mamas in the DDC. Blessings all

Today is my EDD too. I'm finally feeling more pelvic pressure and something more akin to the "bowling ball between my legs" feeling you ladies have mentioned. Dare I say that I might finally start waddling like a pregnant lady is supposed to do? It's not much, but it's something. Here's hoping we're not overdue for long!

Today is my edd as well I haven't made it to a due date yet...my other 2 were 3 & 10 days prior. I am waddling big time & baby is very low. I am sooooo ready to be done!! I also hope for labor for us very soon!

Yesterday was my EDD too and I started having regular contractions and period like pains starting at 3:30PM and lasting all night. Consistently lasting 50 seconds and occurring every ten minutes. I'm so hoping I have this baby before Wednesday so I can avoid the c-section they've scheduled me for (big baby issues and yes, I caved in to fearing all the risks).

: : : :

I hope this is it for you and you birth your baby soon! I look forward to your updates! Oh and you get to be emotional! Giving birth is a natural and wonderful thing but a big deal too! I wish you all the best!

Good for you, SkyMomma! I totally understand your excitement. Things have been about the same for me as what you described. Although, I just threw a hissy fit but it was due to not eating lunch

I didn't really have much going on until last night. We went out for bbq and while sitting in the booth, darned if I wasn't getting some contractions. Cool, but nothing came of it. Then in the middle of the night, I noticed I was having them periodically. Really cool, but again nothing came of it this morning. So now, I'm getting them on and off - enough to motivate DP into cleaning the kitchen!!!

Its so exciting to FINALLY feel like labor is actually going to come and my body is doing some prep work. (its also scary

Today is my EDD... no signs of nothin'! I've had some more of those stabbing pains of cervical ripening, that's all. Oh yeah, and the tiniest glob of clear mucus a few days ago. Holding out 'til Wednesday! Then I'll be ready .

Montse, remember if you don't feel like going in on Wednesday, you don't have to. Just because it's written in the appointment schedule doesn't mean it's written in stone! I'm sending you all the positive labor vibes I can muster!

Thank you, Laura! I was thinking of rescheduling because I really want to go into active labor first and attempt to deliver my supposedly giant baby naturally!
Good luck on Wednesday!

Hey mamas~ Thanks for the positive vibes...nothing new really. I talked to my midwife about Evening Primrose Oil & sex to get things moving just a bit more...she asked me to think about why I wanted to push things along. Very interesting to really sit with this question. I found that a lot had to do with external pressures (friends & family checking in all the time), some with just plain excitement, some to do with feeling ready to no longer be pregnant, some to do with the practical piece of my mom being here for a week & really wanting the birth to happen while she's here. But I also see in myself the way I've bought into the EDD as a cut off date for pregnancy.

Tonight I'm going to do a little equinox & baby welcoming meditation...other than that I'm trying to be patient & sit in the beauty of the unknown. Also, trying to keep myself busy so I'm not just waiting! How about all you other mamas now past your EDD?

Wishing you a lovely evening of meditation mama!

I had been okay so far but today I am getting antsy, We only have a few more things left to get done around the house, little projects and then I feel like we might start trying to help him along a little bit. I had DH get some EPO at the store a few days ago, but haven't tried it yet. I don't know, I am in an inbetween place too, ready to have my beautiful new little boy and savoring the last few days as a family of 4.

Please share your baby welcoming meditation! I would love to do that - did you make it up? It sounds wonderful.

I'm past my EDD! It was on September 19th!

Very cool that your midwife was the one to pose this question. My main motivation to push things along is not wanting to get into the induction fight with the doctors. I know they can't make me, but putting up a fight seems like it will take more mental energy than I'd like to give, you know? I think I will ponder this question a bit more fully tonight.

Your equinox/baby welcoming meditation plan sounds lovely. I hope you have a peaceful evening. I pray we can all find a peaceful mental place as we wait *patiently* and *gratefully* for our babies to arrive.
