kombucha cravings

Thread Starter
So, I went to bed last night with a really awful cold. I've felt crummy all day, and haven't had any sort of appetite. I ate 1/2 an egg this morning and a few pumpkin seeds this afternoon. I'm craving kombucha like crazy, though. I drank my last bottle this afternoon and am dying for more, and am debating whether or not to send dh to the hfs to get more.

so, how would you translate a powerful craving for the stuff? is this the body's way of telling me that i need all that beneficial bacteria right now, or just a fluke? is it a bad idea to drink that much kombucha in one day?

I hope not, I can drink tons of it. I've read of people drinking a liter a day with no side effects, and I feel like I can tell when I've had enough. From what I understand it's not a problem unless you start with a lot, as long as you build your way up it's fine, and do take a break from it from time to time too.

I've been craving it lately too. My little brewing jar cannot keep up with demand at this point!
I think part of it for me is that I've been off soda and there's something about the carbonation of KT that satisfies. Maybe my craving carbonation is actually a craving for fermented foods and soda addiction is a misinterpretation of my body's request? or maybe I'm just

I've craved Kombucha every day since my daughter was born 6 mth. ago, and I crave it intensely when I nurse her. I can't go a day without one, and am always tempted to have more, but just can't afford it. I'd say, obey your cravings! I do know a guy, however, who got bad yeast infections from drinking 32 oz. a day, went back to 16 oz. and the infections went away. But every body is different! Hope you feel better soon! I'd also take G.O.L. Ultra Primal Defense. I believe it's part of what's keeping me healthy. :-)

Hey! For those of you that use the store bought stuff and hurt at the $$$, it is easy to make your own. And cheap! You can start it from a bottle of the store bought kombucha (GT brand because it's raw).

A friend recommended drinking some Kombucha to help with my insides-- so in the way of the web I started googling and found the thread here on how to start it from GT store bought stuff-- not only have I started one, but I have two babies going right now :thanks to WildIris and her thread on making kombucha-- they are just big enuf to transplant into a larger jar of sweet tea. I do like the flavor and thanks to that Wild bout of googling, I found a new Forum that I have been enjoying-- I highly recommend(to everyone) reading that thread and making up your own too.-- I just can't wait to bottle it up with a bit of nice ginger and wait for that yummy fizz!

Awwww, thanks for the thanks! I'm glad it worked for you. You will love the kombucha with the ginger!

Hey, I see you're in Michigan--me too. Maybe we're neighbors?! Feel free to PM me.
