Anyone have a dyson vacuum? - Page 2

Countrymom- we lost the floor part, and I called dysona dn they immeadiately sent me a new one, didn't have to pay shipping or anything (and we had a refurbished one, we hadn't even bought new). So seriously, call them, they will give you a new part!

That said, I have been happy with mine. I have the DC7 I think. Consumer Reports doesn't rank Dyson's too high, but they are more heavily weighted towards price than some other reviewers (IMO). If you are in the market for a truly high end vac, I have heard Miele's are really good.

I have the DC14 Complete and love it. I have no problem getting mine under things, it came with attachments that allow me to get into darn near everything. It rocks, seriously.

I bought a Dyson years ago, a DC07, and hated it. Here's my review on epinions. Hopefully the Dysons have had significant improvements since then.

we've had the dyson animal for several years now and i love love love it. with 3 kids and 5 indoor animals (3 cats, one 160+lb dog and one small but very sheddy dog), it picks up more animal hair and yuck from the floor than any other vacuum we've ever had, and it's still running strong. we bought one for my mom for christmas last year and she loves hers, too. she had one issue (can't remember what it was) and called dyson- they were super helpful on the phone and sent her a new part the next day.

We've had our for 3-4 years, we got the Costco one it came with the "animal" attachments.

I can't say enough wonderful things about it.

When we got it we did a test we vaccumed our sons room with our old hoover (now in fairness that vac was dying) then revac'ed with the Dyson. Oh it was soooo gross we filled the canister by vaccuming just the one bedroom that had just been gone over with the old vac. That sealed the deal for me right there.

Yes, this. We have the cheaper yellow one and *love* it. It still works as well today (2 years later) as it did the day it was new...unlike every other vaccum we have ever had.

And honestly, we only bought it because it had the longest warrantee period of any vacuum in our price range. I was sick and tired of having to replace vacuums within 1-2 years.

I had the yellow one, I got a factory refurbished, so it was cheaper, and didn't have the long warranty. After 3 years the motor burned out (I did use it A LOT). I didn't have a lot of extra money at the time I was replacing it so I just bought a moderately priced Bissell that I read a few good reviews on. I regret it so much!! I miss my Dyson so bad! I hate this new vacuum. I should have just gone for it! The Dyson was the only vacuum I ever had that made me actually look forward to vacuuming. It doesn't smell like a vacuum. You don't have to touch the dirt at all. It's so awesome.

We just bought a Dyson 2 weeks ago (the DC 24), I really love it, it moves easily and is quite lightweight. Its nice and compact to store in our small apartment too.
It was worth the money.

We love ours as well! We got a friends and family discount through Dh's friend a dyson rep. Make friends with your local rep at bestbuy or something? the discount is worth it.

I've had a DC 14 for 2 years now. I'll never own anything else! I've got a big hairy dog (crazy undercoat), I have long hair and now with DS, we need the carpets really clean. Works beautifully!

We just got a new Dyson Absolute DC 17. I am so thrilled with it! So excited that I had to hunt down this forum to share. It works better than any vacuum I've ever used, and it was pretty nasty to see what our old vacuum cleaner had just recently missed. So I'm happy to have healthier carpets and air around here. It's also very easy to clean and maneuver. Yay!:

We only have carpet on our stairs. We use our Dyson on our wood laminate floors and the kitchen floor and...works much better than sweeping which tends to just push things around/stir things up.

I would recommend getting a factory refurbished one (like we did). You can't tell it isn't brand new but you save a bit of $$$ (got ours on Amazon).

When we first got it we took it over to a friend's place (they had carpet). They vacuumed their family room with their vacuum first. Then we went back over it with the Dyson. We managed to pick up *quite a bit.*

ETA: Totally shallow reason for loving it: the colors! Mine is pink.

I bought mine four years or more ago. I agonized for weeks about spending that much on a vacumn. I drove DH insane. We bought the purple one (animal attachments) on sale but it was still as much as I've paid for most of the cars I'd owned until then...

to agree with pp's... worth every penny.

Until then I'd been buying a new vacumn every year or two, getting cheapish models that didn't work well and broke fast.

I've never had a problem with it (knock wood), it cleans wonderfully and I do actually enjoy vacuming most days... just satisfying knowing that I got every bit of dirt off the floor that could possibly be sucked up with a vacumn... emptying right into the bin with no waste and fuss changing bags... I don't recommend many things but I definitely do recommend Dyson's to anyone in the market.
