Check out this site -- you will not regret it! It is very funny and clever, and it really gets the point across about factory farming!

I posted something earlier in TAO about it. Stuff spreads so quickly anymore, pretty cool. I thought it was an awesome way to handle the topic.

AnnMarie, at the end of the clip there were links to finding sustainably raised foods -- meat included. I think what this site is trying to say is that it is also important to support those producers who are farming sustainably. Even though I happen to be a vegetarian, I know that animals play an important role on a sustainably managed farm. You don't necessary need to give up meat (unless you want to) -- but rather, change the source of where your meat comes from.

Personally, I think it is important for people to Know Where Their Food Comes From. It drives me nuts to hear people talk about how they hate to see any semblance of the whole animal at a supermarket or butcher shop, or to see the blood on the wrapping of a steak, or the head on a fish. The attitude is, "I don't want to see it, I just want to eat it." I have respect for people I know who raise/hunt and slaughter their own food. At least they are coming to terms with the TRUTH. Factory farming and "modern" hospital births have a lot in common!

I really liked it! I was about the references to the Matrix : MOOOfious, Leo too funny! But the best part is that 1 the message was not lost, it was told in an entertaining way, but not lost; and 2 it gave links to local farms that carry sustainable products. for the Meatrix

Oh, I know, I saw that. I really don't want to eat it anymore anyway. I was a vegetarian for 8 years and just in the past few months started to eat meat again. I have to figure out what I was missing from the meat so I can take a supplement or something if I stop eating it again. I'm guessing magnesium.

AnnMarie -- a key nutrient that vegetarians miss out on is B12.

AdventureGirl -- I bet this clip can reach more people through email than through TV, by people forwarding it. Oh wait, that's MY fantasy world. But seriously, email/internet is becoming a great medium for activism. Let's not underestimate the power of email!

Glad everyone is enjoying The Meatrix!
