This blog has a few tutorials on making fried eggs, orange slices and popsicles.

Crafster has a lot of tutorials for making felt food also. here is just one that I found that has a lot of instuctions listed in it. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=222947.0

My suggestion would be to start with simple 2d food, then stuff it. Some easy begginer foods would be fried eggs, cookies, ravioli.

If you are interested or need more detailed instructions the etsy seelr umecrafts sells pdf patterns to make felt food. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5332354

Also, I find that using wool blend felt works a lot nicer than the all polyester kind. It doesnt stretch out when working with it, and is much more durable. you can find it on bolts at your local craft store.
