I have made carriers in the past, but not this time around. I have too many leftover from DS. Anything you need help with?

I made a Mei Tai for ds and I've made pouch slings for friends but never for myself. I very excited about picking some beautiful fabric for my pouch(es).

I just need to get into gear.

Do you use a specific pattern? I have a ring sling a Mei Tai and a couple of structured carriers...I think a newborn will be swallowed up in any of them. Anyone have a good pattern (free and online is my favorite) for a sling that works well for a nb?

Joining this thread. I haven't started yet but I just started to learn about the beauty of wool and I am going to try and make some covers from them. Already bought the wool sweaters from the thrift store, so now I need to felt them. Then I am going to try some bum wool covers, then the wool wraps and see what else I can do, maybe a soaker also.

Wow - you mamas are industrious! Most of my time is spent trying to find the energy to do all the nesting I want to do. I have found time to crochet a small yellow blanket (that I left at my Mom's ). I'll get a picture up as soon as I have it back. I'm working on a little hat to match it (youtube is AWESOME!). I'm afraid that's all the craftiness I'm going to squeeze in before this little one is here.

You guys keep up the great work! Isn't it fun?

That pouch pattern is great!

I've had this "Frankenkozy" pattern bookmarked since Neela was little- I love my wrap and thought that this would be a great carrier to try. Not sure of the odds that I'll ever make one, though...

lovely!

I just finished making a wool mattress for my moses basket...three layers of thick, felted wool blanket stitched together and tufted. I need to make a sheet or two now and a liner.

Mel, thats the pattern I used for my MT when ds was little. I've made about 5 MT's (I sold them cheap to friends) and I was able to get the project down to 30 min flat including cutting fabric. It's a super easy project.

Wow. all you knitty ladies impress me! My crafty nesting is taking different forms: I seem to be all about rugs these days. I just finished my first canvas rug, a test one for a much bigger one to go on our old hemlock floors. (splinter central).
And I have been obsessed with punch needle rug making: finally broke down and decided that yes, its ok for me to learn yet another crafting technique.
I literally stay up at night thinking about this.
So have designed a small "baby chick" pattern for my first rug, out to buy supplies today.
I am almost done with a shawl I've been knitting for... 8 years!
and I'm planning baby's "Birth day" quilt too.
anyone else her need different processes for different moods? If I dont FEEL like a certain process, I cant do the project. So I sew, crochet, knit, beadwork, paint, draw, throw pottery, etc etc etc. my DP has often criticised me for not picking a single medium. I see the interconnectivity between all of them.

Here are 2 pictures of the blanket and hat I just finished crocheting - they're the first I've finished!

I'll have to update with pics. Since my last post, I think I've knit 2 more pair of longies, 2 soakers and a hat. I want to knit another soaker and a sleep sack and matching hat. Oh, and I knit a Sweet Mama Small Sugar kimono as well. It still needs matching longies! And I'm about 3/4 of the way through my EZ double knit blanket. Can't wait to get that one off the needles!
