Saving the caul?

I was undecided on what to do with my palcenta so we palced into the freezer to save until i can figure out what to do with it. However this is very interesting, well at least i think it is....I birthed in the pool and it was sifoned(sp) out into the bathtub. Well my mother mentioned that there was this big mucousy thing that she felt shouldnt go down the drain and she put it in a bowl in the bathroom. Well going back to before the pool was fully drained, I mentioned to my midwife that i was having severe cramping, to the point of cold chills and nauseau. She mentioned that it could be baby #4 pains...the more babies you have the more severe the after pains can be or i could have some membrane still in my uterus and that is why i'm having the severe pains. She wanted me to be aware if i saw any membrane come out of me. Well the pains are still severe 3 day later but not cold chills and nauseau any more. So jumping back to the thing in the bowl on the bathroom floor. I start looking online and come to find out the "thing" in the pool is the caul. I got so excited that we saved it, and mainly by accident. I truely feel that it was meant to be saved. So i've been looking up how to dry it and not sure really what to use to dry it out with. Or maybe i should just let it dry in this bowl and preserve it once it's all dry. This is a huge bowl that it is in and it's lying flat. I just think it's cool that it was saved and what the meaning behind the caul is. Also we have not named baby yet and all the names we have choosen this far are all leader names in the bible and or prohet names. Which goes along with infants being born in the caul have been known to be great leaders. That gave me chills reading that. Anyways, wondering if any other mama's saved the caul? And wanting to share in my new found knowledge with other mama's.

On a side note: Someone had posted here awhile back that 2008 is the year of the rat and it's very auspicious to be born this year because it's the rat sign and the rat is a hard worker. I thought back to that when you mentioned them being great leaders. Hard working leaders...Very cool! Congrats to all the mamas and babies born in the caul :
