I had this happen to me a couple of weeks ago -- I lost my baby B, too. I had seen both heartbeats at 6 weeks, and then at 8 one of the sacs was completely empty. It's so hard when your heart is geared up to love two of them. I did IVF, and apparently Vanishing Twin Phenomenon is very common with infertility treatments, and happens in up to 50% of twins. No one had told me beforehand that it was a significant possibility, so I was crushed. BUT I did take comfort in knowing that MOST of the time the remaining twin continues to thrive and the pregnancy is normal. I miss my baby B, though. (((HUGS)))

oh, mama, i am so sorry.
i didnt say anything before, because i was hoping your other baby would make it. but this happened to me last year. i lost baby b at 14w6d and baby a sometime the next week. so i know this is a really hard time you are having right now. i am glad you were able to have the d+c and get it physically over with. i am so sorry, mama. i hope you and your dp can support each other through your grief and please be easy with each other. of course you both need time to grieve, and that shouldn't be rushed, but i do hope you feel better soon and that you are able to join another ddc soon (if that is what you want, of course). I am so sorry you have to go through this.

I am so sorry! I know what you mean about not feeling like you can go through ttc again. It took us 14 months to get pregnant and I don't even want to think about having to go through it again. I can't imagine how much harder it was after ivf.

I just keep trying to tell myself that one day I will feel better.
