Is 10dpo too late for implantation spotting? *UPDATE: BFP!!*

So, I am 10dpo. I tested yesterday (crazy, I know) at 9dpo with FMU... it was a BFN. Today, after I went pee, my CM was reddish-pink streaked. I'd say maybe 5-6 drops of blood. There hasn't been any more since, and believe me I've checked! I am also having twinges more on one side of my uterus than the other.

Also relevant: I have never had a luteal phase less than 14 days in my life, but I am breastfeeding a two year old so who knows. Also, usually before I get AF I have 1/2 to 1 day of severe cramps before the bleeding starts, so I know she's on her way. No cramps to speak of yet, just funny sensations in my uterus.

All right, so let me have it! You can build up my hope or bring me back down to reality... I'm open to both! : : :

It's definitely not too late. 7-10 days is considered normal for implantation, but even implantation later than that is quite common, though it frequently ends in early miscarriage. Good luck.

Ten days is still on the healthy side of normal, from what I understand. Test again tomorrow! :

BTW I know it varies but I only ever have blood-tinged CM when I'm pregnant.

I think it usually takes 2 days from the day of implantation to a BFP. Am I wrong about that?

When I first got pg our third, I just knew I was pg. I tested the day my period was due, and got a bfp. Then the next day I spotted a tiny bit. I had never spotted before ( and didn't with my 4th either) and was really worried. The Dr told me it was implantation bleeding. I never had any more than that little bit, just like you. And everything went just fine! He is 6 now and in his first grade classroom right now! So I think it sounds very promising! :

Thanks for the replies, ladies! I tested this AM and it was BFN but it wasn't a very sensitive test. I still feel hopeful and plan to test in the AM (with a FRER)! The spotting only lasted about an hour, went from red to pink to brown and was mixed in with my CM. I'll let you know tomorrow (or the next day)! :

If you experienced implantation spotting with any of your pregnancies, how long after did you get a faint ?

I had implantation spotting (tiny bit of brown only once on tp and had cramps the night before) on day 10 and on day 12 got a faint line on an internet cheapie. Day 13 I got a very quick digital "pregnant."

I've gotten two very (and I mean VERY) faint BFPs right at the 10 minute mark the last 2 mornings. (12 and 13dpo) The line didn't get any darker or faster to appear today. I'm feeling a bit sad, actually. I'm worried AF is going to show tomorrow and I'll wish I had never tested early.

Thanks! I am feeling a wee bit better now, I just did a search on FF for charts that had implantation spotting, negative before positive HPTs and late HPTs. There are lots! : Though 18% of them are m/c charts, that means 82% aren't! So I'll just see if my AF comes tomorrow (I NEVER have LPs longer or shorter than 14 days... always right on) and then I'll give myself permission to feel a bit more hopeful if not!

Thanks everyone for your support!
