Mom's group near Golden, CO? Needing connections

Hi
I live in Golden, have been here for a year and a half, we have a 9 month old girl.
I am finding it unusually difficult to meet other women to connect with, especially other moms. I have found that people generally seem to keep to themselves around here. Its more conservative than what Im used to also. Im from Chicago, and used to just meeting people and establishing relationships quite easily.
Is there a moms group where I can meet other free thinking women? I am missing meeting new people.

If you're interested in hiking with your LO, Mountain Mamas is a great group for moms to hike with their babies. www.comountainmamas.com Most of the hikes are in Jefferson County, so a pretty short drive for you. I started hiking with DS when he was about 3 months old, and met my best friends through the group. I let my membership lapse last month just because I no longer had time to do as much, but it was a vital part of my life for over a year. And, as I mentioned, I met a wonderful group of women, who are and will remain a huge part of my life!

Thanks for posting tjsmama. I checked out the site but Im a full time working mom and the hikes are mostly in theam during the weekday so I am unable to make it. Im also on a budget. I am one who is unfortuantely affected by this economy. We have to pick and chose what we do. it sucks!!
I also am looking for a group that is free. Do they exist? I have no idea as I
hve never done anything like this.
COmtn mamas has a free hike I might check out if I can ever get a chance to go.

mom's groups

Hi, there is a group of moms who practice attachment . I think the link is denverap.com or you may have to type denverap.com/forums. There are mom's nights out, playgroups, all kinds of stuff. Everyone is really welcoming and while some things occur weekdays, there are plenty of evenings/weekends/mom's nights out and people also get together outside of the group. Great forums too!

At least one mom on the board is in Golden and also works full-time. There are a bunch of us and it's free.
