Hi!

dh just brought home 1 box of gluten fere rolled oats. we make oatmeal with some steel cut oats we have, but i thought i might be able to make granola with these. Anyone have a recipe my kids will love? Do you soak the oats?

Subscribing and bumping!

I'd love to know how to make soaked-oat granola. All I have is a normal recipe, and although tasty, it's only an occasional snack.

Thanks,
Erin

I've made this one before which was very tasty. Might make some again soon - I love it sprinkled over yogurt. :

how about a tf granola bar? i have oats that have been soaking since last pm and want something that i can put in my kids lunches. would i just layer it a lot thicker? i suppose this would take much longer to dehydrate. is there a TF reason it needs to dehydrate rather then just cook? i mean if the oats are soaked whats the big deal if they then get cooked?

This is the recipe I use, which I got from Rajahkat and LOVE:

Mix:
4 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup sliced almonds
1/4 cup flax seeds
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp cinammon
1/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 cup vegetable or canola oil

Bake spread out in a pan for 10 minutes at 350, stir, bake another 10-15 mins. Then stir in 1 cup of dried fruit of your choice.

great recipes, I also thought that since I soak the oats I can't make granola, I am going to try that recipe now.

I just usually bake the oats like and oat kugel or casserole thingy.
I usually add milk or coconut milk , butter, eggs , vanila ,cinamon , honey or maple syrup , almonds/chia seeds, walnuts , raisins etc;
It's usually yum but Iam craving the crunch granola thing.....:

My dh is begging me for cereal, so right now I'm searching for good recipes too. I found this one:

They are all pretty flexible recipes, but it's nice to see the different proportions folks use.

I'm excited because my dh doesn't like to drink milk, so he never gets our raw milk, but he will if he starts eating granola.

one recipe says soak 4 hours at 200 degrees F one says for most of 24 hours at your lowest temp - for me that would be 25 degrees C really different.
