Probiotics for infant? Do they work? Where can I buy locally?

Hi ladies. My 3 month old is very gassy and doesn't sleep well. We've tried everything and now I think that I will try probiotics. Has anyone has success with them? Also, where can I buy locally? I live in Baltimore County. Thanks!

I used probiotics for my son and they really helped with his digestive problems. We still use them today. I asked my pediatrician about the "baby" ones and she said it did not make a difference if you use the ones marketed towards an infant or the regular ones. I am a big fan of PB8, personally. I don't know where you can get them where you live, but the average natural foods store or Whole Foods will have them.

I can't recall the brand that we use, but I got one specifically for at least kids if not infants at The Health Concern in downtown Towson. I bought it when I took a round of antibiotics for an ear infection when ds was 15 months old, and still add it to his yogurt when I think about it.

If you have a My Organic Market near you, they also have them there. I didn't have much luck with them because DD has many food allergies, so I couldn't find any without any of the ingredients she was allergic to. But my husband said they worked great for him!

Can you check with your local pharmacy? My ped told us about Florastor. I think you can get it without a prescription but it's a behind the counter thing. My daughter was a little older though so I'm not sure if it's okay for a 3 month old. She recommended it after the flu bug when we had digestive issues.
