Yay new episode this week!

Did anybody see that Ellen Pompeo is pregnant? Who thinks they will write it into the script? It makes sense they might could since we just had Derek and Meredith get engaged and none of the 'core' characters (not counting Bailey) have ever gotten pregnant.

Well they didn't write in Lexie's pregnancy.. She is due with #3, I *think* in May....

I remember that too I just wasn't including her.

I thought Lexie was looking pretty noticeably pregnant last time we saw her. She was kind of half hiding behind a counter and had her lab coat on. I didn't know she was due in May though! I don't know they probably won't end up writing Meredith being pregnant in either. I just thought it might be doable since she should be getting married on the show soon. I assume...we have drug out her and Derek's relationship enough I wouldn't be surprised if it were a while before they actually get married on the show.

Christina had her ovaries removed during an operation (I think it was for an eptopic pregnancy with Burke's baby). No birth control worries for her.

She had one fallopian tube removed, not the ovary. So, in theory, her changes of getting pregnant are 1/2 of what they would have been, right?

Okay - I wanted to make sure I hadn't completely lost my mind because I defintely remembered discussing Christina loosing her ovaries back when she had the ectopic pregnancy. Apparently they only said her fallopian tube burst, but the board had "oopherectomy" written on it beside her name, thus the confusion. Here's the transcript from www.twiztv.com for that section of season 2, episode 3:

(He continues to stare at the board. The camera focuses in on next to C.YANG:

EXPLOARATORY LAPAROTOMY
ECTOPIC PREGANCY
PRPS. SALPINGO – OOPHERECTOMY

Dr. Burke is shocked)


(Cut to Christina lying in a hospital room. Dr Bailey is sitting in a chair watching over her. There’s just silence for a little bit)


CHRISTINA: What happened?

DR. BAILEY: You had an extra uterine pregnancy. Your left fallopian tube burst. (she sighs) Dr. Shepard … she did everything she could but there was too much damage. She couldn’t save the tube.

(Christina doesn’t say anything, just closes her eyes)


(Cut to Kelly’s room.

OMG - that was so horrible!!! I can't watch stuff like that anymore now that I am a Mommy...and while pregnant too! My worst nightmare Why do they have to do that???? I'm so glad we co-sleep because I definetely need to be next to my little guy right now...
