I am also planning a hba2c and I am sort of already in complete awe that this baby will come completely on its own terms, and that my labor will progress normally, naturally, and end with me pushing this baby out. I get chills just thinking about it.

I labored with both my other babies, but with my first it was discovered he was a footling breech when I came to the birth center 8cm dialated. My water broke and I was rushed to the hospital where he was born by emergency c-section at 10 cm dialated.

My vbac I went to 42 weeks and then was induced by AROM, then had a very malpositioned babe, and after 3 hours of pushing was another c-section.

Needless to say, I am completely, totally, almost dumbfounded that I will do this... I have these amazing dreams and visions where I push the baby out, and I am the FIRST to hold her, to touch her, and nobody takes her away. I get to see the cord, the placenta, and I swear I will never want to let her go because that was one of the most awful things of my birth experiences before.

Sorry, this got long, but obviously this is a subject near and dear to my heart.

So yes, *sigh*, I am soooo looking forward to this birth.

I feel like I've been preparing for this for soooo long. It'll be 7 years from when we started ttc to when this baby arrives. Although conceiving wasn't easy I've never doubted for a second that my body is capable of birth & knows what to do.

What a great thread. So nice to not feel alone - I've spent a long time watching others go into labour terrified & felt unable to really comfort them 'cause "I didn't know what I was talking about".

We're all going to do terrifically!

When I was pregnant with my first, even though I was excited for labor and delivery, I still couldn't believe that I was going to birth a baby. Push an entire baby out of me?? No way, I didn't think that I could do it. It's such an amazing feeling once you do! Talk about an adrenaline rush!! I think it's the high I got from actually delivering him that helped me that first week, when I slept like maybe 2-3hrs (all broken up!) a night. I remember dh telling me to sleep more or I was going to drop, but I didn't need much more, I functioned just fine and felt great. It's amazing what our bodies are capable of and how adaptable we are!

What an amazing thread! :

Reading this has me so excited about my upcoming labor and delivery. I can't wait to experience childbirth again, to bring another sweet baby into the world. I'm not scared, and while I'm in no hurry to be done being pregnant, I really look forward to the day that I go into labor. I'm in such a great place right now- happy to be pregnant, to have this baby inside of me, and in such anticipation of the day I get to meet her.

I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who's not especially nervous about giving birth! Before I got pregnant I loved few things more than a good hard workout, but I haven't been able to really do that during pregnancy, so I'm really looking forward to the physical challenge of birth. Plus of course getting to finally meet my lovely little that will be the end result! :

Thank you thank you for starting this thread! I am so empowered and inspired by all the strength and love you mamas have for your babies!
I am SOO excited about labor - and I know other people think it's weird, but I seriously can't wait to be in labor. We've been practicing relaxation techniques and massage, and I know I'll be able to do it! It's so nice that others feel the same way!
: to you all

Every "good" BH I start smiling as soon as I am off my toes that THIS could be it. Both my teen boys want to come along to the hospital to be there ( my 16 yr old invited his girlfriend LOL) Ok I dont think the girl friend will happen but if it does she is welcome My 4 yr old kisses my belly and talkes to the baby every day asking if he wants to come out to play today.

Jeana, me too.....my 10 yo is super excited and has decided he wants to be here for the birth (he didnt want to be present for the birth of ds3 2.9 years ago at the birth center and he says he will always regret it! lol!). my teenager wont be there b/c he hasn't yet understood the beauty of NCB (im hoping he will come around one day).

i keep looking at our birthing pool (b/c its raining raining raining all weekend.....i was able to get into the hot tub once this weekend for about 20 minutes b/c its rained the entire time).

super super excited.

maybe i should start a huge knitting project or something! lol!

my friend ( who will watch Nathan) gets back to town on wednesday. I will be 38 wks then. My appt is with my least fav OB wednesday so it will be quick in and out. I am actually thinking I may let them strip my membranes at 39wks ( provided every thing is favorable and they will let me know so I can say yes/no) This may be a lame reason but.... I am all belly this baby is another big one I dont need to have an u/s to tell me that Ive had a 9 & 1/2lber before but Im running out of shirts that fit over my belly! Anytime you belly dwarfs your 38DD chest you know its big
I think I may push mow the grass at 40wks It worked with DS2!

I am soo sooo soooo ecstatic about giving birth! I can't wait to experience it! After my c-section and the whopping 2-3 contractions I felt, this is just (to me) one of the greatest things I could ever experience. I look forward to the pain (I don't even want to expect a painless/orgasmic birth, lol), to the hard work, to every single bit of it that I've heard so many complain about. It's not easy for them to understand how it feels to finally get the chance to experience something that was taken from you. Now that I'm almost 37 weeks (tomorrow) I'm steadily looking more forward to going into labor as teh days go by. I have almost no fear. It's just pure bliss and gleeful anticipation... almost like waiting for Christmas morning when I was 5 year sold. I'm crazy, huh?
