I know cramps are a normal part of pregnancy but mine seem to have changed suddenly. For the first two weeks or so after I found out, I had menstrual-type cramps. Then I just had some minor, random pinchy feelings and some round ligament stretchy-type pains when I coughed. But the past two days (I'm 7.5) weeks I've had what feels like a tightening of my uterus coming and going and a stabbing pain between my legs - in the cervix region. It is much more uncomfortable than the other cramps I've had Anyone else experiencing similar pains? (I'm not bleeding or spotting at all).

Any chance you are dehydrated? I cramp a lot like that if I need more water, especially did in my first pregnancy. Cervix pains I would always get when my cervical position is shifting (mostly before and after ovulation, and toward the end of pregnancy).

I had horrible cramps my first pregnancy. I thought I was going to pass out! I was working (teaching in front of a bunch of kids of course!) and my legs got weak, I was shaking, nauseous, and I could barely walk to the office. The whole time I was thinking I was losing the baby. It lasted less than an hour, and it never happened again, but it was awful.

Hmmm, I don't think I am dehydrated. I get at least 80 ozs. of water on work days but sometimes less than that on weekends when I'm not at a desk for hours on end. I have my first appt. next Tuesday and I'll be sure to mention it to my OB if they are still bothering me.
