So this morning in the shower, my cervix was definitely protruding a bit out of my vagina. I don't guess this is normal, right? Should I be worried? Any one else have this happen?
I would call your doc or mw. ...good luck.

your cervix was sticking OUTSIDE of your vagina?? or do you mean into your vagina...like you could feel it lower? or do you mean actually sitcking outside?? either way, absolutely call your ob or mw. and please keep us posted!!!

Yeah, sticking outside. Not far, but definitely outside. I've put a call into my midwife, just waiting for her to call back.

yeah...that doesn't sound normal at all. keep us posted! i hope it turns out to be nothing to worry about...:

Any updates? I hope all went well with your mw appt.

I've never heard of that, but it doesn't tend to come up in normal conversation, so who knows. Let us know what the MW had to say. Hoping for the best for you...

There was another poster who asked about this same thing a long time back, if I can dig up the link to the thread I will-- (I need to eat something, take a shower, and go to a doctors appointment, so it won't be until later this afternoon)-- and hopefully you'll have a better answer from your midwife by then. Anyway, I believe it ended up, in her case, not being the cervix. Otherwise I'd be worried about cervical/ uterine prolapse.

ETA I looked and looked for the thread, but couldn't find it, sorry.

oh wow. please let us know what your mw said.

I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon with my midwife. She seemed kinda concerned, which, of course, has me all anxious. I'll let you know how it goes.

Well, she didn't insist you go to the ER, or come in to see her that very moment... there is "concern" and then there is "emergency", so maybe that will help you get through until your appt.

Thinking of you and hoping it all goes well today at your appt.

Well, just got home from the midwife. I have an appointment to see an OB and possibly get an ultrasound in the morning. The midwife thinks my uterus is retroverted, which would be why it is pushing everything down and out (so to speak). She says it shouldn't cause any problems for the baby right now, but it could put me in some pain and we want it to go back where it belongs as soon as possible. We'll see what the OB says tomorrow. But I feel much better knowing it shouldn't be hurting the baby. But, until further notice or return of uterus to its proper position, I am on bedrest.

Thanks for your hugs and well wishes!

bedrest sounds like the best thing. i am glad to see they sent you home and assured you baby's ok and very glad you get to go to the doctor in the morning. i hope you are not hurting and that you can relax easily, mama. keep us updated and i hope everything goes easily for you tomorrow and with this issue.

At least they had some ideas. Take care and hopefully someone is bringing you lots of snacks in bed . Rest well.

Yes, I'm glad that the MW didn't freak. I hope you aren't too uncomfortable, and that maybe you'll get some answers tomorrow.

How did your appointment go this morning?

Well, the OB didn't seem concerned at all. (Though I think when he stuck the speculum in it moved my cervix back, so he didn't see how far down it was. Ouch!) He just said we'll keep an eye on it and it should move itself into position as my uterus gets bigger. We did get to see our little Kumquat, though, in an ultrasound!! He or she had a little arm raised and waving at us!
