Midwife to travel to Tijuana?

I am planning at birth at Best Start in San Diego, but trying to figure out the postpartum bit. We live in Tijuana, and I would really like to be at home as long as possible. With dd, we drove up 24hrs after the birth for the first birth center visit, and it was fine, but I would prefer to be home if I can.

So my question is, does anyone know of a midwife that would be willing to travel about 25 minutes south of the border (we live in a safe, gated community off the main freeway towards Rosarito) to check in on mama and baby?

I have to decide this week in order to make a payment to the birth center if I am going to go ahead with a visit there. Also checking with my contacts here.

Thanks!

Have you called any midwives in town? I'd just call around and find out if any do travel into Mexico. I know of one mw who has gone to another state to do a homebirth for someone...
Gerri Ryan, Barbara Herrera, Marla Hicks, Vickii Gervais are some of the local midwives...there are lots of others that is just a start for you.
Good luck!
