23 Week Micro Preemie

Thread Starter
I've posted my sister's situation a few days ago looking for support ideas. She had her DS about three weeks ago, who was born at 23 weeks gestation (US calculations). They live about an hour outside Paris, France and so far have had a few hurdles to get through with him. I think mostly she is looking for others who have had a similiar situation with a 23 week preemie. She surfs the internet a lot looking for stories and support, but is finding mostly people with 24 week preemie (which is a huge difference in development at this point).

Does anyone have a 23 week preemie to offer experience, support, advice or information? I know that she would appreciate knowing that she's not alone and that little DS has a chance at life.

Here's two blogs she should read:

The first is about Kayleigh who, although she was closer to 26 weeks, had severe IUGR and was the size of a 23 weeker, just 13 oz. http://www.kayleighannefreeman.blogspot.com/

The second is about a girl who was born at 23 weeks and also 13 oz. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/so...lightfootprice

If she wants something positive to read, you could send her this article. It's about the day that the world's smallest surviving baby went home from the hospital:
