Redbook Magazine

Thread Starter
I was leafing through a Redbook on a flight last week and was reading the "real life confessions," there are usually some pretty funny stories.

Imangine my shock when I came across a blurb about a woman who was getting funny looks throughout her entire grocery shopping trip because her nursing toddler had stuffed a soft toy in her bra and she was walking around with lumpy boobs!

I never would have guessed that such a mainstream magazine would print something about nursing toddlers!

Oh, noes! Is nursing toddlers becoming more and more "mainstream" so that "mainstream" parents are less likely to hide the fact their kids are nursing past 4-6 months?

Now, how are we gonna be "different" if the "mainstreamers" take all the "crunchy" stuff and make it their own?

You know I used to get Redbook and I remember a couple of positive breastfeeding references from a year or two ago. Good for them.

Well now I'm going to find something crunchier and more exciting to do. Nursing while standing on my head maybe? Nursing while hugging trees or doing an interpretive dance?

NOW WHAT????

Redbook has also been running a series on autism, and a recent one had a page long "Link between vaccines and autism" article that I thought was very well done (there were pictures of Jenny McCarthy and the Green our Vaccines march) . Certainly it was amazingly balanced compared to Cookie.
