Needing constructive criticism- Updated with finished gnome!!

Hi,

I've just embarked on a needle felting journey and I am LOVING it.

Besides simple balls, here is my first project (a work in progress):

Autumn Gnome

I still have to make clothes for him. Needle felting comes so much more naturally to me than sewing, but I want to sew the clothes so DD can take them on and off.

What do you think? DP said he looked kind of like Jesus. Comments? Suggestions?

Also, is it marketable? How much would you pay for a needle felted doll?

ETA: He's finished!!

Wow! Great job. He'll look great with clothes.

Ok, he does sort of look like Jesus (which alone means I wouldn't purchase one for my kid, but without the beard my kid would be all over that).

He looks great and nothing like Jesus.

Maybe its the beard But honestly, Jesus wasn't even the same color as your doll. Maybe the beard being a different shape would help? That way, the face wouldn't look as long.

I would totally purchase him. With clothes, he'd be super cute.

With clothes you could easily get $30+ dollars on etsy for him

Maybe if the beard weren't as long?

He's cute! Maybe try velcro on the back of a shirt?

I'd guess 25-30 bucks (with clothes) on Etsy, maybe?

I think he looks great! I like the variegated color in his beard. I don't think he will look like Jesus once he has gnome clothes on (although, I don't really think he looks like Jesus now, either).

If you wouldn't have said that dp said he looked like Jesus, I probably wouldn't have thought it myself. I think once you get gnome clothes on him, it will totally change his look and nobody will think anything but "Cute gnome!"

I would suggest you find out how your DP knows what Jesus looks like. Time machine? An old photograph from 2,000 years ago?

The gnome is adorable.
