Hello,
Ok this question if for consultants and just you WAHM's. . I am currently a Mary Kay consultant and to be honest its not going well. There is just so many consultants out there that its hard to find customers. I am also currently babysitting so its ok that Mary Kay isnt doing well. But dh and I are TTC #1 and when I have the baby I am going to quit babysitting. So I am thinking of other things to do to make a little extra. Has anyone ever done Pampered chef? I love to cook/bake and I use the products so thats not a problem, What Im curious about is if people do parties alot. I also like the fact that with Mary Kay you kinda have to have alot of inventory in stock and with pampered chef you dont have any inventory. Just some thoughts please!!

I have not sold it, but am a regular customer. I have a party almost yearly. My consultant works it full time and lives on her income. BUT she has no kids, so childcare is not an issue. She has won TONS of trips, too. I think most moms cannot work such a business full time, unless they have a spouse with flexibility.

When it comes to direct sales, I always say there's a snowball effect. If you build your customer base and serve them well, they'll keep you going! It might start out slow, though.

A good director/leader to help you is good for some people, too. Some people prefer to do things on their own, but some like the help. Good luck!

I buy it but dont sell. Since you already do MK, do you think you have a good customer base? I think thats the main thing. Online is pretty saturated, so starting out with it you would need to do mostly/all local parties.

I've been to many of the consultant parties.. hosted by friends. Of all the parties I've been to, I feel like the stonewares from Pampered Chef were the best deals... and something I want to buy for all my family and friends. It's unique.. can't find it anywhere else. Not having inventory should be a big plus for the consultants, I would think.

Like it much better than Mary Kay. Though I notice that some Mary Kay clients come back to Mary Kay because they like the product. They tend to stick with something that works for them. I personally like trying different products... don't like to stick with just one brand for facial treatments.

I love TPC! I agree with pp that you already have a MK customer base you could send out a notice that you were changing products and would happy to be their new PC consultant.
The Pampered Chef is an amazing company to work for. The founder is a mother herself who started this business 28 years ago in her basement. She is still in touch with the "little people" and is generous with company rewards and incentives.
I just can't say enough about how great it makes me feel to work for a company that I truly believe in their mission and values. It really does make a difference.
